" 9th battalian, Madras regiment. - During the Indo-Pakistani War of 1965, the battalion located at Ferozpur under the 65th Infantry Brigade fought the famous Battle of Barki and played a leading role in the capture of Barka-Kalan and Ichogil Bund. In this heroic action, 27 personnel made the supreme sacrifice. The battalion was honoured with one Vir Chakra, two Sena Medals, twelve mention-in-despatches and the theatre honour Punjab."
This is the truth about the Madras regiment. Indians, beware of goons like Rajeev spreading false propaganda about true Indians.

From your messages I presume you are an andhraite. So if you hate TN so much why dont you Golties get out of Chennai. Why are you people flocking to chennai for medical treatment & all other activities. For your information more than 50% of illegal activitieas involve Andhraites in Chennai. TN will be better off without you Golties.

What lies ! There has been no incidence of a unit refusing to fight a war against Pakistan.
I am waiting for the day when they get the terrorist leader Prabhakaran. I know they will eventually get the killer of Rajeev Gandhi. I support the Sri Lankan Buddist in their drive to get rid of terrorists and create a peaceful country. As a native of Bihar, I have met many Sri Lankan Buddhist piligrims who come to my state on pilgrimage, they are very good people. I am thankful to the Sri Lankan Buddhists for preserving Buddhism in the India sub continent from Brahminical tyranny and aggression.

There is historical truth that neither tamils or sinhalese want to admit. Sinhalese are afraid that a seperate nation for Tamils will lead to destruction of Budhism in Sri Lanka as it happened in India when Brahmins and hindus went after Budhist. If I am budhist, I am not, I will make sure that Tamils, i.e., Hindus will never be in a position to repeat same tricks that employed in India to get rid of Budhist. so Sinhalese have a point. Tamils do have a point that they are not equall and want to be treated as eqall. However, that comes at expense of Sinhalese. So relegious and economic considerations are behind this struggle, terrorism, fighting, or what ever you want to call. Until there is harmony and understanding of equality between hindu holy people and budhist holy people, nothing will settle and this killing will continue.

Jackson since when has criticizing LTTE terrorists and also language racist (which the DMK taught so many) become same as Tamil bashing. In the past I had condemmend the terrorist LTTE and also the language racist who discriminate others who don't speak the same language. How is language racism different from racism based on skin color or different caste or different religion? If you look at my postings, I consistently condemn 1) discrimination = castism and 2) terrorism = LTTE, Al Queda etc.

Yes, Bihar is a wonderful place and the people are really nice. The politicians have made it backward but it will come up very soon. After all, it is the only state in Northern India, where, a majority are still the original Indians. Bihar will regain its lost glory real soon. My best wishes to that State. Sri Lanka is nowhere comparable to that. And Sanjeev Singh is also right when he says the Srilankan Tamils do not associate with India and Indian Tamils. I have lived in Trichy where a lot of Srilankan Tamil refugees live. They are in no way comparable to the Indian Tamils. They are very violent and arrogant, harbouraing too much of separatist feelings. They are a threat to India. They are surprised by the way people speaking different languages live in Harmony in India and if left free for a long time, they will pollute the minds of the Indian Tamils also.

let it become Bihar, but not like Tamil Nadu where they abuse Lord Ram several times and Tamilians support the corrupt politicians.
They stooping worshiping to real god Lord Ram, Shiva.... but started worshiping Rajnikanth, Khusbu, Jayalalitha. Jagatguru Sankaracharya was arrested and Humiliated but Tamil nadu people were happy, they never protested. same on Tamil nadu.

Rajeev seems to be fanatic anti-Tamil, I welcome him, because Tamil can't progress with out enemy. Such peoples are required. No problem,Tamil nadu consists of not only tamil speaking people but also telugu malayalees(Auto shankar type),Kannada, and other laguage speaking peoples. Karunathi has christened them all as Tamils. All the misdeed done by these peoples are reported by our neighbouring states as Tamils act.Karunanithi to be blamed for this.He want to finnish off Tamils so he align with others and engage them to kill tamil leadres in his own party.

The so called Shankaracharya (in fact one Subramani) was not even a Shiv Bhakt. He only read Ramayan and Bhagavat Gita. Kilos of Gold donated to him by a Shiv Bhakt was given away by him to Tirupathi. He was the biggest anti- Shivite ever born on the southern parts of India. Adi Shankara had established 4 muts. The so called Kanchi Mutt was none of those. The southern Shanka Mutt is in Shringeri, not in Kanchipuram. Subramani was only a fraudster and murderer who met his fate.

You're wrong. Tamilians are the most ardent worshippers of Lord Shiva. It is you north indians who invented Vishnu and all his so called Avtars to counter the original Indian God, Lord Shiva. You Rambhakts are the ones who destroyed temples of Shiva and built Ram Temples over them which were again destroyed by your north indian cousins, the muslim north indians.

Not all Tamils. A lot of Tamils believe he is a terrorist. Srilankan Tamil refugees who are doubted to have links with LTTE often find it difficult to find a house for rent in Tamilnadu. Does this happen in any other State?

Killing Tamil leaders with bombs from war planes is like running over pedestrians with a BMW and gloating over it. Get over it. Prabhakaran is a freedom fighter.

pRABHAKAR IS NO FREEDOM FIGHTER AND EQUALLY SRILANKAN ACTIONS ARE DEPLORABLE.
This srikanth reddy is a living example for being "Half-baked". He believes whatever he had understood sofar is the exact (fact). Hope in coming years he gets fully baked.
Vijayanagar rulers appointed Governors known as Nayaks or Nayyakars to administer this newly annexed territory. By 1545 the Nayaks became more autonomous, establishing the Madurai Nayak dynasty ruling up to 1740s. The temple was reopened and the Nayaks, most notably Thirumalai Nayak, contributed much to the rebuilding of the temple that had almost been destroyed during the Muslim rule. The Nayaks made lasting contributions to the city's architecture such as the Raja Gopuram of the Meenakshi Temple, and the Thirumalai Nayak Palace. After the Vijayanagar empire collapsed in 1565, the Nayak dynasty continued to rule Madurai for about two centuries. Rani Mangammal (1689-1704) was other notable ruler who made large contributions to the city's structures.
All the great dynasties of rulers of the southern peninsula have paid homage to Lord Sri Venkateswara in this ancient shrine. The Pallavas of Kancheepuram (9th century AD), the Cholas of Thanjavur (a century later), the Pandyas of Madurai, and the kings and chieftains of Vijayanagar (14th - 15th century AD) were devotees of the Lord and they competed with one another in endowing the temple with rich offerings and contributions.
