We do not want to build the alliance with any country like US or China on anyone....
Our thinking, ideology, culture; are quite unique and different from other countries. And we would like to preserve it.
US or china is not an ideal partner. Let us remember that... - China has attacked us in the past. And will do it in future; if get the chance. Blocking our UNSC membership as well. - US has supported our enemy pakistan. And it is still blocking us for our UNSC membership.
Let us build the capability and strength to fight alone..

Self reliance is a slippery path. The national ideology of North Korea is "juche" (self-reliance). And North Korea is a basket case. Capability and strength to fight alone can be built up only with international engagement.
Or do you suggest we rely on the LCA and the MBT for our armed forces?

Nothing wrong in LCA, MBT in developing, using or improving.. They are the best asset for us in comparision to buying the US made F16 or chinese made J10

I did not compare India with North Korea. I just pointed out the perils of "self-reliance".
Yes, a couple of LCAs are finally flying after 25 years of effort, thanks to American engines. And the MBT is a dead duck.
If left are so concerned with intrests of China, why don't they use their influence to make China one of the most trusted friend of India & refrain from doing unfriendly acts to India like - Making claims on various Indian territories. - Adopting hegemonistic attitudes. - Continuing their illegal occupation of Indian territories. - Always helping Pak against India. - Many other type of unfriendly acts. By all a/c it appears that China is an unfriendly nation for India. By taking care of the interests of China, left have shown their true antinational character. What is surprising is that the BJP, truly national party is opposing the deal & thus allowing the Congress to take all the credits for Indo-US deal.

I agree with u Mr Goel. Commies want to handed over India to China, which attacked India and grabbed our land. They captured Tibbet and denied freeom of the local ppl. They killed opponent by the name of Cultural Revolution. And even r*pe young/minor girl by name of Communism [Mao did n other Chinese top brass till enjoy young chinees girl]. Read the other side of history. You are only narrating what is written in our history books. The reality was, it was Nehru who wanted to have a piece of extra territory before the 1962 war .......... all this is never brought up .... and we have been taught over the years that China was the aggressor. Thats plain WRONG. Only truth is due to Nehru and his advisors our army was beaten blue black.

It is only US that opens its doors to whole world and people from whole world immigrate to this land. China is a closed country. Always to be suspected. We know about US the good and the bad. We know nothing about China. Even chinese people have no control over their gov. THAT IS MOST DANGEROUS. THEIR GOVT IS NVER CONCERNED ABOUT PEOPLE PROTESTS. JUST ONE MAD MAN IN COMMUNIST GOVT CAN START INDIAN INVASION.
It is predicted that India shall again lose independence. But this time occupying forces will not be from the west as feared by backward looking Indians. This time China shall invade and annex India. Allied forces shall free India by the end of war.
