Mayawati has done a commendable job of joining forces, she has proved that divide and rule policy of other politicians should be scrapped now that India has matured as a democracy. the new slogan for our politicians should be "multiply and rule".
the true color of the policy adopted by britishers can be seen only in so called independent India and UP election is a true reflection of that.
Congress has been the true follower of that policy i.e. Divide and Rule and the result of that is we stand divided in terms of area, language, caste, creed and money.
it wasnt britishers who did much damage to our country but its the politicians and specially congress who have done more damage to India.

it is most imperfect to compare british 'divide and rule' to contemporary indian democratic system. our schools always taught us the cliched 'divide and rule' .. that was the time when people had no rights.. invidividuals were not empowered.. they were all under the mercy of kings.. and the divide and rule was out way before the 20th century by which time british already ruled india.. in a democracy with rights resting with people, if u divide, how the hell can u expect to rule on the whole??
Majority of the people who vote are poor and uneducated and minorities. You cannot expect broader vision from them and you should expect criminals to be voted. Tommorrow, if i start a party and say that 1 kg of rise will be Rs 1 and bramins will gent 15% reservation, free electricity and stuff like that, I will get voted to powet. Unfortunates people beleive such promises.
I have heard Rahul Gandhi has done Vipassana meditation. Mayavati represents budhist too. Can we have more vipassana centre in UP now. so that Rahul Gandhi and mayavati can sit and introspect and help people grow in peace & progress than to keep fighting on political line and waste time/energy of people.

not Rahul, but Priyanka has done Vipashyana. anyway, Now Rahul has admitted that the Congress does not have an organizational base in UP, can we conclude that it is no more a national party with power just in Andhra Pradesh, and half power in Maharashtra?
The ploy of power hungry politicials to stich up a 3rd Front coailtion of not less then 20 parties will be a disaster for India. Majority of the small parties wanting to form a 3rd front are narrow minded parties with very acute political vision. The Voter is India is sure to show the door these parties, as the best efforts of these parties will bring them to the third position at best.
