think again
by mahendra on May 11, 2007 05:31 PM  Permalink

the result will not change the luck of the up people.now many people will migrate to gujarat for job i mean for labour work.

it is coming from decades and i m sure it will continue for centuries because the people of up dont want to learn from their past mistakes.and gujarati people will enjoy it because they will get cheap labours easily from up for at least a century.i want to ask the people seated in ac offices who are favouring mayavatis and mulayams please go to gujarat, maharashtra and delhi how the people of up "bhaiyas" tring to survive by doing hard work.still they get few rupees in the day

UP Results
by HariOm Chawla on May 11, 2007 05:30 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Mayawati has won becase of her astute understanding of the voters' mind. She concentrated on crime situation in the State and managed the election signle handedly, her trump card being the Dalit-Brahmin combination, thus weaning away a good percentage of Brahmin votes from BJP. While SP lost due to incumbency factor, BJP's losses were due to utter mismangement, starting from ignoring an astute manager like Arun Jaitely and failing to bring Vajpayee to campaign for the party in early phases.

Chawla ji. BJP only lost because it was riding on a dirty hate agenda. People dont want to listen criticism they want hope and a vision for a future.

Insider..
by Pranav Mishra on May 11, 2007 05:30 PM  Permalink

Winds of change. Are they blowing?

I don't argue about governance, as BSP has proved itself as good in it as SP, BJP and Congress for many times.. There can be no happiness about the results of elections in UP, not these days. There can only be a satisfaction that crimes that have been on display with such shamelessness, would stop. However much farcical it is, BSP can not go to such a level of nakedness, and their apathy towards blood and skeletons.. Remember Nithari Episode.

I do not hope that UP will get some good leaders, visionary ones, because that's just a lost tribe. They have long left North and moved towards South. Whatever we are left with in the name of leadership are fat bright shiny cheeked people who don't know what they say or Mayawati who talks a lot of rubbish if she falls before crowd. And that is what people really deserve, believe it.

Anyway, these elections have been the most sensational item of news, and will remain for next five days, for as long as a news survives in our country.

Thanks.

a full circle
by sajindranath nambiar on May 11, 2007 05:28 PM  Permalink

The politics of vote bank has come a full circle in India, it started with "a brahmin" party (aka Congress) going for wooing dalits to create vote banks, now creating a vote bank of brahmins by a Dalit party has brought in the dividents. I hope now atleast all possible vote banks have been covered and now start looking at real issues.
