no happiness on mayawati coming to power
by ritesh bindal on May 11, 2007 11:55 PM  Permalink

being a UPite, i feel bad that the base of the politics in my state is no more concerned with public issues. noone cares for improving infrastructure. now its peak summers & we wud face scarcity of water & electricity everywhere in the state. only people living in the constituency of new CM will get uninterrupted power supply & other benifits as a "vote of thnx" by her. politics driven by castism has really divided us so much that we feel happy if someone of r caste comes to power. as if , he/she will take care of us personally. wake up UP. else we will go back a decade. see present bihar as an example. its time now to choose honest & devoted politicians. new CM is chargesheeted in 500 crore scam. u can imagine the number now when she is going to enjoy " absolute power" for 5 years.remember the dalit act???look at what azam khan did today. hope u all know y it was done. WAKE UP UP ELSE U WILL BE DOWN VERY SHORTLY.

Don't hope much from politicians !
by prakash kumar on May 11, 2007 11:51 PM  Permalink

If you want to change UP, start from yourself. Change will come from people of UP. Get off from your lazy ass and start doing hard work and keep showing fingers to UP's corrupt politicians. Get rid of old mentality of treating government as kings of ancient times.

Real change will come from a change in people's mentality not by these corrupt politicians. Get rid of casteism, dowry system first.

In the meanwhile, vote here to select "most corrupt political party in india"..

by Sadhan Pande on May 11, 2007 11:47 PM  Permalink

It has given a new dimention to political thoghts.
It is expected now all others will try to follow the principle!
But it is still doubtful if people's distress will be over!
To ensure that, a true democracy based on a TRUE election(WITHOUT RIGGING OR BOOTH CAPTURING)cased on 'PEOPLE MADE MANIFESTO' is needed !
Lets hope WE GET IT IN THE NEXT PARLIAMENTARY
ELECTION !

Mayawati is corrupt and talks bakwaas
by chaitanya kumar on May 11, 2007 11:45 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

But she is one proud dalit lady. It is difficult to carry the burden of that identity in a society like India. I appreciate her spirit and pride. Dalits need to assert their pride and confidence rather than letting themselves spoiled and mayawati has provided the breakthrough for them. Let's hope the dalits assert themselves confidently but without the corruption factor of Mayawati. And coming to corrution, most of Indian politicians are corrupt and it's not right to single out Mayawati and let's also hope she amends herself and provides a stable government to UP and lay foundations for UP to go about development path given that people have given her a clear mandate. I wish her all the best.

Chaintanya,

The biggest problem with our creed is the live in their own web of castes and they still swim in them. Our people have to cross the barriers and understand the realities.

Our greedy Politicians and Media keep our people so engrossed in petty and local issues so that they dont have time to think on larger threats surrounding us.

It time that some of us take initiative in this regard to establish organisations which educate the realities to our creed.

What you say is correct. But its a gradual, slow process. Doesn;t happen overnight or even a century.

Dalits needs to be integrated with Hindu mainstream and its a good step in that direction.

She is doing tasks started millenium back by Bhakti-movement, people like Sri Chaitanya Dev and many others.

Swami Vivekanand famously spoke about "rise of shudra" in India in this century.

And the next task is, bring the values of Brahminism to them.

Well, the UPcians gave their mandate and offer BSP to rule the state. Can we predict the UP as one of self dependent state after 5 Years? Can we expect some major reforms in the state? What major palns the govt has to provide the basic ammenities and employment. OR at the end of 5 yr term the government will count their failure on central government...

Congratulations to Ms. Mayawati!

I am hoping that she can bring in justice, law and order and jobs to UP. After 15 years of coalition politics let this be a new beginning for all sections of the society irrespective of caste, creed, religion, gender and socio-economic status,

All political parties are corrupt, bcz the situation in India is people are not donating for electioneering expenditure of the political parties.Once they taste the money, insted of party coffers, some or maximum part also goes in creating personal wealth for the political leaders.

But BJP for me is the most corrupt party, they didnot spare even the coffins of sodiers. They also made enormous money by bribes from dinvestment of the public sectors. They even did insider trading in the stock markets from time to time.
