Let us hope UP will prosper
by Srinivasan Ashok on May 11, 2007 01:01 PM  Permalink

Congrats to Mayawathi. In UP, after a gap of many years People gave clear mandate to one party. I hope new CM will fulfill the aspiration of the people. Wish her all the best.

We get what we deserve..
by Sanjeev on May 11, 2007 01:00 PM  Permalink

UP's only hope is that mayawati wil concentrate on a good administration rather than frivolous caste/religious issues.

There seems to be no place in UP for parties talking about all round development, What an irony that only those parties can win in UP who appeal on caste configurations(BSP), muslim vote bank(SP) or hindu vote Bank(BJP)... But then if we Indians vote in A Music show such asTVS Sare gama along regional lines instead of merit, then obviously we will vote also on caste and religious considerations instead of Merit.....

Mayawati proved a winner in realy tight election by election commisioner
by Barun Kumar on May 11, 2007 01:00 PM  Permalink

Dalit people couldn't vote in general politics due to unfair activity by criminal elements but this time they utilize their vote casting power due to tight security, also Brahmin support to Mayawati produced a good result for Mayawati. Finally she achieved her target and hope she will try to remove criminalization in UP so that state could go in developement phase.

Hope she is better than Mulayam
by prakash kumar on May 11, 2007 01:00 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I do not expect too much from Mayawati, but I guess she may be better than Moolayam. We will have to wait and watch. Moolayam appeased muslim which are not even minority any more, he had persian script printed all over Govt signs and boards in UP even though there is not a single muslim in UP who could not understand Hindi. Message to Mulayam - I guess it is hard to bring law and order when all your politician buddies are goons and mafia ?

Mayawati at least had guts to say sometime back -"muslim are fanatic by nature". The truth hurts, but at least you got to admit she had the audacity to tell it.

She is far better than Mulayam as an administrator. The law and order under Mulayam was very mulayam. Under MAYAJI, it was much better.

Lesson for Congress, SP & BJP
by varun s on May 11, 2007 12:59 PM  Permalink

I must take the oppertunity to Congratulate Ms. Mayawati for a magical come back. She has just proved all the high-tech media predictions to be wrong. The most significant issue is her new card of Brahmins in politics. Unfortunately, other political parties including the aged congress, BJP and many others make chaos of hindu-muslims-dalits. But actually, the real dalits of this era are the brahmins. Ms. Mayawati recognized that fact. She has set the miraculous victory. Others must understand the storng presence of Brahmins in Indian Politics. Cudos to Mayawati ji.....

congress has maintained its tally of low seats means that people are going on treating congress as of no importance as before. it was losing and is losing.
