It's only SAANPNATH vs NAAGNATH as ever in Indian politics.
AAM JANTA remained the AAM JANTA even in Satyug,Dwapar and Treta so it's all in Kalyug.
I understand BSP would lead to more(the most) organized curruption in UP.And that would be a foot print for the next govt. These parties: SP and BSP, are learning from each other.
Actually VOTERS are also devided into different pools on the basis of castes, region, religion and mutual benefits etc.The select catagory of voters draw the benefits out of their respective pool.
So the poor man will remain the poor because he is used to it.As I have observed an insight of the politicians that they don't even regard a human being as a human being.

So over all we are responsible for not acieveing a quality standard in the politics.
If a voter can vote a duffer, cheat and complely non desrving candidate getting worst results, would it not be better to elect a fool or poor because he will be less harmful for the society.
And the progress of the state and nation is not dependent on so called NETAJI.

Anil Yadav

Be happy !!!!!!!

The resounding poll victory of Ms. Mayawati should inspire all Indians, especially the Dalits and women that if there is a will, there is a way.

Dear gentleman,

I wonder why use the word dalits and women in your message.

All people living in UP, irrespective of any caste, community are citizens of this State, and she should work for the betterment of all citizens, irrespective of any cast, community, etc. Let us think broader and better.

When she was the CM earlier, other than naming some towns with Ambedkar's name, installing statue of Ambedkar in so many places, what has she done for the betterment of UP.

UP needs a professional and accountable Govt which can improve the standards of education, make the people more literate, stop all goondagiris, rowdism, kidnapping, politician-police nexus, cleaning of Ganga, Yamuna, improving the power supply, etc. very urgently.

Let us see whether the new Govt will do anything on these burning issues, and if so how soon?

With best wishes to the people of UP,

V.Srinivasan.

The true meaning of "Bhahu jan samaj" word to the party has been displayed by Ms.Mayawati this time and She should not stop here and has to prove it by her action in this inning. She has the guts to make it happen. If she succeds,it will be the begining of new era in Indian politics.

Now BSP should support Kalam for president. Congress and Communists are just playing politics in the name of presidential elections...

Stability
by AAA AAA on May 11, 2007 01:47 PM  Permalink

People and Parties will come and go..... but this is election is important as this will bring kind of stability after around 20 year in the state.

But be careful, stability should not result in stagnation. A stable govt. will be hostage of defectors or fencesitters.

it is one of those heights... HEIGHT OF SYCOPHANCY. there is no other way to explain how rahul magic has worked in UP elections with congress faring dismally. the talk of supporting mayawati is not only ludicrous but stinks as well. mayawati must be loathing at the statement...no wonder dynasty prevails andn will continue to in congress as on as such people continue to be in congress. if sonia is at all serious about congress p[rospects in future, then a thorough refinement at all levels of congress is a must with old guards getting weedded out and fresh blood getting infused...yes... fresh blood infusion is what congress needs at this hour. In fact parties at that.

UP debacle
by Balakrishnan Iyer on May 11, 2007 01:46 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

The debacle SP has faced in UP in the Expected Lines. Whom God wishes to destroy become (Mad)Egoist first. Mr. Mulayam took pride to call himself to be the KING of the JUNGLE. Nathari Killings only heraded his downfall. Whatever happened to the "FREE AD" Campaign of UP as UTTAM Pradesh by AB & AS. Now we must watch how the equation between the AB & AS thrive. AS has to watch his foot now provided his flab allows him the view.

We have to look the new formation. Mayawati can neither save lower caste nor upper caste!

I think Congress needed this development. The same work Congress did with Mulayam what it did in Bihar with Laloo. Both SP and RJD were UPA's colleagues.
