GURGAON: The Rajasthan Gujjar backlash crossed borders to hit the National Capital Region (NCR) on Thursday. Members of the community took to protesting at the Delhi-Gurgaon border, choking the Mehrauli-Gurgaon Road, the lifeline of the ever-growing mass of commuters from Delhi to this satellite IT town in Haryana.
Those who started out very early in the morning from Delhi staggered into offices a little before noon with accounts of 10-km-long vehicular jams, fires that could be spotted from miles away, unruly mobs and a sea of cops.
The trouble was centred around the slim neckline that the Delhi-Gurgaon border opens onto the Mehrauli-Gurgaon Road, which was sealed by Haryana Police, forcing vehicles to turn back on the Delhi side. A difficult task as the road, already dug up for work on the Metro line, had cars lined up bumper to bumper.
Those who could navigate out of the jam made a beeline for a less-used hilly road that connects to Gurgaon, only to find that other hapless commuters had already had the same idea. The average travel time on that road on Thursday morning %u2013 two hours.
At the border, the mobs shouted slogans and burnt tyres and other material. Policemen stood on the ready for violence with the protesters clearly in a bad mood. Haryana Police said the Gujjar protesters had blocked traffic at the Mathepur traffic light and Dwarpuri Naka. By 11.15 a.m., police claimed the two places had been cleared of protesters.
they are forcefully demanding ST status.phir they will demand other thing. they even not contributed anything to Nation. They just looted people and kill people. Other side Meenas are good in nature and they have right to get ST status. They are the only people who still hold the Jaipur ka Khazana which is given by Raja Man Singh in Mugal Days. Meenas still taking care of that and not a single penny is misplace or theft. Soon gujjar will demand gujjrabad and a gujjar ( uth) army and gujjar police and gujjar politician to hai hi parliament me and credit goes to congress.
Going by this pace it appears certain that a day would come when barring a few ones all others would come under above mentioned classes.Thanks to our politician and their vision,now everybody wants to come under the secured umbrella of reserved classes.Now it is upto the people and off course our leaders where they want to take the country now.
Why is the rajastan BJP govt Holding talsk with Gujjars? The BJP party is a hypocrytic party. On one side it indirectly supports the anti-quota protests staged by Delhi Medicos. On the other hand it promised Gujjars to be included in ST category as poll promise and creates a big issue.
The loss of lives are due to bogus promise made by BJP to win election.

Gujjar are not innocent or nonviolent, There is no question of withdrawal of their OBC status. It will indulge their violent activities. Govt should firm to OBC status to Gujjar. No police cases should be withdrawn against any culprit individual. It will previlige and acknoledge their violent activities. It will ultimate give wrong signal to other community if appropriate action is not taken
