The best achievement of UPA government is the bringing back of an era of Peace and harmonious co-existenne within/among the people of India and with neighbouring countries. This surely can fuel an era of progress and development in future years because fear, insecurity and instability have been replaced by confidence and faith in last 3 years and the way the poor and disadvantaged classes are being tried to be brought into the developmental framework of health, education,employment is one of the rearest in the world and that is why the steps taken by the government and policies of UPA government are visionary ones having long term effects just like the effect of opening up of economy in 90's by Manmohan singh. Now the vision is opening up of all sections of soceity for development/for it's fruits. Wish that the vigour of the vision with no greed or selfishness remains fresh and strong in Sonia, Manmohan and the left allies always. Wish that the people of India and the opposition learn from it and try to learn from them.
As far as the performance / rating is concerned, I give UPA govt 3 out of 10. Hope this is not on higher side. Would appreciate comments / rating from my other Indian brothers / sisters
UPA government is a government of cheats, for cheats and by cheats. however, pranab mukerji and manmohan singh are decent fellows. with a few exceptions, the UPA cabinet is full of criminals and uncivilised fellows. the latest addition to th ecabinet is radhika selvi whose only qualification is that she is widow of a goonda who died in a gang war
During the last three years, prices of essential commodities have increased enormously, making the life of a common citizen more miserable. During six years of Vajpayee's rule, price of sugar, pulses, wheat, oils were generally stable.
No doubt, there has been an economic advance, but only crorepaties have become arabpaties. Some persons in MNCs and big Indian companies are getting a monthly salary in lakhs, but majority of the workforce remains at the same level. Disparities beween rich and poor have increased manyfold. Considering the rising inflation, a common man's real earnings have gone down.
Earlier, when Mr. Manmohan Singh was Finance Minister in Rao Government, there was a move to check the exorbitant salaries paid by the companies to its officers (which not only increases disparities between rich and poor, but also enhances the product cost), but nothing concrete wss done. It is high time that something be done to check the managerial salaries.
And above all, please check corruption. It is the biggest evil in our society. You just cannot be sure whether there is any honest man left in powerful position.
After 60 years of Independence this Govt is planning for huge amount of QUOTA for OBCs, SCs, STs etc ... Then where the hell General people will go ???

why the frustration....have patience.... there's one more rule congress Govt. is going to introduce.... "Govt. people are treated by such OBC quota Doctors only!!!!...." Then there is a some light in for General and poor people.

however, the politicians who are supporting reservations will go not to OBC doctors but to the best available in the country. if not satisfied they will go abroad for treatment at government cost. but never, even in their dreams will they go to a doctor just because he is OBC or SC or ST, etc
