They are not terrorists
by Narayan on May 24, 2007 12:33 PM  Permalink

Terrorists are terrorists everywhere. But IMO LTTE shouldn't be classified as one because of their true cause. Just Imagine that a constitution of a country itself won't support its Citizens, where the hell will they go. Their Violence against Civilians should be condemned and at the same time we shud appreciate their current resistance in sticking only to the SL Army targets.
As long as LTTE won't attack any civilians, their cause should be respected by the World community.

I think srilankan army is wasting their energy and lives to fight LTTE.
No force on earth can subdue LTTE...rather go to them with love and affection and treat tamils as equals and respect them..the situation will change dramatically..

Tamils are not treated as normal citizen in srilanka.Sri lankan govt wants to kill all tamils as soon as possible. But kashmir are treated as more than a equal citizen of india, they are always getting support from indian govt for their development.

There's a real oppression of Tamil people going on in SL for the whole World community to see, with also the Sinhalese Constitution supporting a virtual Ethnic cleansing of Tamils. Here's this Group protesting and fighting against this suppression of Tamils' rights. Logically they shudn't be labelled as Terrorists.

This is the correct news -
Tamil Tiger rebels on Thursday attacked a strategic naval base in northern Sri Lanka, killing at least 35 sailors, a rebel spokesman claimed The Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) staged a pre-dawn raid on the naval base at Delft, an islet off the northern Jaffna peninsula.

"During a search operation, we found 35 bodies of Sri Lankan sailors and weapons. We lost only four of our cadres," Tiger spokesman Rasiah Ilanthiriyan said from the rebel-held Wanni region.

The Sri Lankan military confirmed the rebel attack, saying the Tigers had used about 15 boats, including three so-called "suicide boats", but the army provided no details about casualties.

Military sources said they had information about eight or 10 sailors getting killed in the attack and rejected the Tiger claim of 35.

The latest violence came after the International Red Cross said yesterday it had pulled its staff away from frontlines dividing government and rebel forces amid an escalation in the fighting across the island nation.

If your posting is with seriousness then let me clarify you, here the word TIGER refers to Militants of out fit LTTE. They are fighting for seperate land from Sri Lanka. Of course they are equal to Tiger when it comes to courage.
