There are reports that more than 9 persons were killed in police firing. Just saw the footage in aaj tak, where police personals are shown firing at people helping a wounded guy.
An important incident following Direct Action Day was the Noakhali district massacre on October 1946. Noakhali, a district in what is now the Nation of Bangladesh, had a Muslim majority. About three-fourth of the land belonged to the Hindu landlords and the tenants were mostly Muslims. The Direct Action Day riots in Calcutta spread to other regions, reaching this district where a massive pogrom was organized against the Hindu minority. The death toll is estimated to be in the thousands, with 51-75 thousand Hindus ethnically cleansed from the region [20].
The riots and massacres During the massacre, the Hindu minority were killed and beaten, and their properties were destroyed. Many Hindus were forcibly converted to Islam and Hindu women were abducted and raped. Often, members of the Muslim mob who slaughtered the Hindus would forcibly marry the widows after converting them to Islam at point of weapon.[21]Many Hindu temples were looted and destroyed. Hindus were forced to throw deities into the Ganges river and Muslim mobs forced them to consume beef, which is disallowed in Hinduism.[4]
The horror and the underlying conspiracy of this occurrence can best be described in the words of S. L. Ghosh of the A. B. Patrika, quoted below. Says S. L. Ghosh:
"The horror of the Noakhali outrage is unique in modern history in that it was not a simple case of turbulent members of the majority community (Muslims) killing off helpless members of the minority Hindu community, but was one whose chief aim was mass conversion, accompanied by loot, arson and wholesale devastation... No section of the Hindu community has been spared, the wealthier classes being dealt with more drastically. Abduction and outrage of Hindu women and forcible marriages were also resorted. The slogans used and the methods employed indicate that it was all part of a plan for the simultaneous establishment of Pakistan."

Please shut up. Millions of Hindus have been evicted from Kashmir. Thousands have been killed. Where is the out rage. Automatically Out rage. When 400,000 Hindus became refugees overnight, not head line nuews nor regrets from any where. 9 guys are killed, whole world has to die. In 1946, the Indian independence movement against the British Raj had reached a pivotal stage when the British Cabinet sent a Mission to India aimed to discuss and finalize plans for the transfer of power from the British Raj to Indian leadership, providing India with independence under Dominion status in the Commonwealth of Nations. The Mission held talks with the representatives of the Indian National Congress and the All India Muslim League, the two largest political parties in the Constituent Assembly of India. After initial dialogue, the Mission proposed plans over the composition of the new government.
Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the one time Congressman and now the leader of the Muslim League, had accepted the Cabinet Mission Plan whereas the Congress rejected it[3]. Jinnah denounced the British Cabinet Mission and decided to try and put pressure on Congress and the British, by resorting to civil disobedience.
According to Margaret Bourke-white, in July 1946, Jinnah held a press conference at his home in Bombay where he declared his intent to create the Pakistan. Margaret Bourke-White, a LIFE magazine correspondent, wrote extensively about the meeting. Jinnah proclaimed that the Muslim league was "preparing to launch a struggle" and that they "have chalked a plan" [4]. He had decided to boycott the Constituent Assembly. He rejected the British plan for transfer of power to an interim government which would combine both the Muslim League and the Indian National Congress. He attacked the Congress and called it "Hindu dominated". He said that if the Muslims were not granted Pakistan then he would launch "Direct Action". When asked to specify Jinnah retorted:
%u201C Go to the Congress and ask them their plans. When they take you into their confidence I will take you into mine[4]. %u201D
He further declared:
%u201C Why do you expect me alone to sit with folded hands? I also am going to make trouble[4]. %u201D
On the next day, Jinnah is claimed to have said allegedly on August 16, 1946, "Direct Action Day" for the purpose of winning the separate Muslim state:
%u201C We shall have India divided or we shall have India destroyed[5] %u201D

In terms of a resolution of the Muslim League Council Meeting held during the period 27 July %u2013 29 July 1946, the Direct Action Day was intended to unfold %u201Cdirect action for the achievement of Pakistan.%u201D
Another account is given H V Hodson in his famous book "The Great Divide" in which he writes:

Its so-called %u201Ctrishul-dikshas%u201D (knife distribution) are naked and subversive paramilitary training camps for its militias. Not only are the enlistees given their arms and training but also incantatory lessons in hate and violence against minorities, who, they are told, have to be bloodily extirpated, in order for the land exclusively to belong to Hindus.
This climate of sacred savagery spawned by the saffronazis has successfully spread the miasma of bigoted violence all over. The abundance of firearms freely made available to the HinduTaliban gangsters empowers the anti-socials and prods them to %u201Caction%u201D. This is an investment towards routine training in ethnic cleansing and eventually establishing Hindu Rashtra, envisaged by Savarkar and Golwalkar, the prime mentors of assassins, arsonists, thugs and rapists %u201Cserving the cause of Hindutva%u201D.
A glimpse of the climate of Hindu crimes rampant is in order. An article, titled Gujarat 2002 Visits Gohana [Haryana] by Shamsul Islam (Milli Gazette, 16-30 Sep. 05, p.8, New Delhi) lays out %u201CSimilarities with Gujarat 2002 Carnage%u201D:
%u2022 %u201CDalit houses and properties were burnt by releasing gas from cylinders. Big and well constructed houses were both looted and burnt whereas smaller houses were only looted. The arsonists carried away moveable properties in carts they had brought with them to transport their booty.
%u2022 Police and law and order machinery stood as mock spectators. %u2022 Only Dalit properties were targeted. If there happened to be a non-Dalit property, it was spared, which means the attackers had full knowledge of the identities of the home-owners. For instance, in Arya Nagar which has mixed population, only Dalit houses were blasted. Likewise, at Samta Chowk market (adjacent to Balmiki Basti), out of around 20 shops only a junk-dealer%u2019s shop owned by a Dalit was looted and completely burnt.
%u2022 A hate campaign against Dalits preceded the actual attack on Dalits. Dalit localities were declared to be hotbeds of criminals. The local administration did nothing to discourage or check this activity.
%u2022 These were not only Hindu Dalit houses which were burnt but also those owned and inhabited by Christian Dalits were similarly looted and burnt.%u201D
But the %u201Ccause%u201D gets served in many ways else too, unimagined by the manic mentors. Below are just a few examples.
1. Ramesh Pande. He was among the terrorists who stormed the Ayodhya temple on 5 July. The state government rewarded his family with a lakh of rupees ex- gratia. More compensation to family members is said to be under consideration.
2. Doctor S.K.Pandita, charged with sheltering militants in Kashmir, along with Pt. Dalip Kumar, arrested, for financing them. Pandita disclosed he carried messages and ammunition to the militants.
3. Sham Lal and Kirpal Singh, in Rajouri-Poonch, belong to Hizbul Mujahideen and Sanjay to Lashkar-e-Toiba, according to SP J.P.Singh.
4. In 2001, Kuldeep Singh, with seven others, killed in an encounter in Chatter Gali, Doda district. Elder brother Randeep Singh is still a commander of the Hizbul Mujahideen, Doda Dist.
5. Bharat Kumar, arrested in Satwari, Jammu City, with arms and ammunition. Trained for four years in Pakistan and Afghanistan.
6. Lal Chand, crossed over to POK in 1997, returned to Doda in 2001 after receiving military training there, according to the police.
7. Police arrested a noted Hindu smuggler, involved in Jammu%u2019s Raghunath Temple attack in 2002,
8. On 9 Nov. 2004, Manoj Kumar Manhas, was one of the 47 militants who surrendered to the army. He revealed he was lured into militancy by Baldev Singh, absconding.
9. Uttam Singh, alias Saifulla, 23, a sector commander with Hizbul Kahmir,slain Aug.19 in an encounter in Jammu. Was in Pakistan five years, trained in arms.
10. Virendar Singh, 25, a Hizbul operative, supplied arms and funds to jihadi colleagues in India, captured in New Delhi.
11. Aug. 24, Hizbul militant Chattar Singh, carrying a pistol and grenades, was arrested in Doda.
12. Shakeel Wani, ex-Hizbul militant, now a fruit vendor in Srinagar, said at least 100 Hindu Kashmiri boys had fought against Muslim militants.
13. Attractive Hindu girls luring Hindu youths into terrorism. The issue of 27 Aug. 05 Jagran, a Hindi daily, runs this story. Nina, 15, is said to have played an important role in making many Hindu youths terrorists. She sent them across the border for training in arms. From the Chingas area of Rajouri, living with a relative, Joginder Singh, she came in contact with Shamsuddin, the district commander of Hizbul, This discomfited Joginder who sent her away to brother Balwan Singh, but she continued her work securing food and shelter for the terrorists in Gujjar homes. From her the police found out many things.

Christians, too, target of Hindu fascism By Tahir Mahmoud
Indian prime minister Atal Behari Vajpayee's one day fast of penitence on January 30 is reflective of the widespread hyprocrisy in the ranks of the Indian ruling elite. The fast, coinciding with the fiftieth anniversary of Karamchand Gandhi's assassination, was meant to expiate for the horrible death of an Australian Christian missionary and his two young sons in Orissa on January 23.
Graham Staines, 58, and his sons, Philip, 10 and Timothy, 8, were burnt alive when Hindu fascists doused their jeep in which they were sleeping with kerosene and set it ablaze. When the three terrified occupants tried to break out of the vehicle, the Hindu mob pushed them back into the burning inferno.
Staines's 'crime' was that he had devoted 34 years of his life to serving lepers in India. A week prior to Christmas, Hindu terrorists had attacked and burnt churches in Gujarat's Dangs district but no one was killed there.
The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) whose allies perpetrated the Orissa horror, immediately pronounced the attack as 'an isolated incident.' How isolated was the attack? There have been 108 attacks against Christians in India over the past year. On February 3, a nun was gangraped in the same locality where Staines and his children were burnt alive and on February 6, a Christian boy and his sister were murdered.
The number of anti-Muslim attacks is more than three times higher. These are euphemistically dismissed as 'communal riots.'
Vajpayee's fast of penitence must be viewed against the backdrop of his statements. When he visited Dangs district on January 10, he called for a 'national debate to re-examine the freedom of religious conversations,' as reported by the Times of India on January 11, 1999. Vajpayee went further. He said 'religious conversion by Christian missionaries was at the root of all the trouble in the district,' (Hindu, January 11, 1999).
Many observers saw this as a green light to his Hindu terrorist allies to continue with their anti-Christian crusade which resulted in the tragic deaths of Staines and his two children. On January 29, some 3,000 Muslims and Christians, perhaps for the first time, took out a joint procession in Delhi denouncing the government's failure to curb attacks on minorities. Even as Christians were being targeted, Muslims were being killed by the Hindu terrorists as was witnessed in Surathkal, Karnataka (see Crescent International, January 16-31, 1999).
Vajpayee's assertion that 'religious conversion by Christian missionaries was at the root of all the trouble' was dismissed by Delhi's Archbishop Alan de Lastic. He said that had Christians being involved in conversions, there would be 350 million, not a merely 23 million Christians in India.
The role of Christian missionaries in India also needs a closer look. The best known missionary, of course, was Mother Teresa, who died in August 1997. She had devoted her entire life to looking after destitute children in the slums of Calcutta. In a letter to Dalit Voice (February 1-15, 1999), Ebe Sunder Raj of India Missions Association, gave some statistics pertaining to the work of Christian missionaries. He wrote: 'The 2.3 percent Christians in the Indian population cater to 20 percent of all primary education in India, 10 percent of all the literacy and community healthcare, 25 percent of all existing care of destitutes and orphans, 30 percent of all the handicapped, lepers and AIDS patients etc.'
These are very impressive figures. So why are the Hindu terrorists targeting the very people who are helping the most deprived of the Indian society? The answer is that the Hindu terrorists belong to the upper caste. The oppressed and downtrodden in India belong to the lower castes. The upper caste Hindus do not wish to see members of the lower castes getting educated otherwise they will begin to demand their fair share as well as question why they are being deprived of their basic rights.
According to the Indian constitution, discrimination on the basis of caste is forbidden. The reality is otherwise. Prejudice cannot be erased from people's minds simply by legislation. It requires the full force of the law to punish those who violate these rules. Since power has resided in the hands of the Brahmins - the tiny class of parasites sitting at the apex of the caste pyramid - they have made sure that the lower castes continue to suffer the indignity and humiliation they have endured for millennia.
Despite much talk about Indian secularism, freedom and equality, the upper castes do not marry from the lower castes, nor allow their daughters to be married by members of the lower caste. Caste
discrimination--religiously-sanctioned apartheid--is a permanent feature of life in India, and is widespread.
Not only is such discrimination tolerated in India, even the west remains silent about it. One can imagine the rucous that would have erupted had a Christian missionary being killed in Pakistan or some other Muslim country. The US has in fact passed a bill into law under which it will impose sanctions on any country where Christians are persecuted. There is little chance of this law being applied to India.
In fact, at the time when Christians in India were protesting against their persecution at the hands of Hindu terrorists, the US was busy huddling with Indian officials offering them partnership in trade, commerce and technology. Like the Christian Palestinians suffering at the hands of the zionist occupiers, the Christians of India, too, can forget about any help from the west. The west's concern about Christians is aroused only if it undermines Muslims.
