It is all simple hallow rhetoric. I do not think either Dr. or Advani even have a clue as to how real change can be brought about. It is sad that even such Tall Politicians still keep bragging about upper caste and lower caste shamelessly. When I mention Tall, I refer to the physical height only. They have not reached the heights of good statesmen or politicians. Dr.would have done a lot better by saying, the Govt. will improve quality of education in the Public sector and just that. Bridging the gap, not to be come preserve of only the privilege classes, etc. sound too familiar and stale. Buck up guys and start doing better. Leave Mayawati alone and wait till you see something tangible and practical. If something does happen, dont even waste time, just copy it across the nation. We are getting sick of this reservation matter in education.
Let us talk about is Education for all..from the primary levels... what is the use for fighting for a reservation in elite institutions like IIT or IIMs, unless the Dalits are able to even do the elimentary education... fight for the basics first..come up in life with merits...then you don't need anybody's mercy for higher education... For your kind information, the government is fighting for the creamy layer (you know what is the meaning of creamy layer - i.e. the richer section of the so called (or labelled) OBC) people to get in to IITs and IIMs with the lowest marks.. You tell me now, how is it going to help the poor unasuming DALITs of our country?

well said...iagree with you.. the primary education should be free of cost for everyone and should be necessary for everyone...this is the only way to uplift the economically backward classs...no matter he is SC, ST, OBC, muslim, bramkhin, jain, sikh, buddhist, christian, jew...just he should be a human being and residing in India...
many saddist muslims r trying to divide Hindus on caste .... they dont have any other way to satisfy there egos ...so they try n then celebrate the dalit brahmin divide...but they r fools to think there dirty triks will work. INSTEAD OF POINTING FINGERS ON HINDUS THEY SHOULD TRY N CLEAN THERE OWN COMMUNITY .

Private organisations are not runned by Government's money so they have the right to take their own decision as long as they are paying their taxes on time
Why do we have to bother about the caste system even sixty years after Independence? Should not democracy, the panacea that it is, wash away that millennia old vestige of an evolutionary aberration? That is because, casteism is promoted by all the major parties. They would rather divide and rule than unify and empower.
A very crass example of this divide and rule policy is now on display in Punjab. The out of power Congress would rather drive a wedge between the Sikhs than see to it that people live harmoniously. The Akalis too seem to be playing into their hands. These parties recognize the potency of vote banks. They would rather enjoy power than make India powerful.
Dear Hindu friends, take some time to ponder over this and if possible, build a temple either individually/collectively in your lifetime where the priest will be selected on merit and not by virtue of his/her birth. If you do not do this, Hinduism will be relegated to the pages of History textbooks in the not so distant future.
I think BJP and RSS are planning to finish off Mayawati by appreciating her and backing her statements. The truth is that she is much more clever, she knows very well that any sort of association with BJP will distance her rom Minorities. That is the reason immediately after assuming office she went to Ambedkar park and dismissed upper caste officials.

BJP has always been in favor of having reservations on the basis of economical conditions..
The UP verdict is loud and clear. Come out and vote, and you are taken care! All those who sit at home on polling day.. listen!. If you want your share, go and give your vote!
Thanks to UPA Govt. at least they could understand the meaning of reservation from MsMayavatijee. Now let us see when will they bring the bill after requsit amendments.
He can make your income negative each year if you wish even if you are living in the largest flat in Golf Links ....guaranteed to create income that will ensure your kids get reservations under quota for poor.
