Unity can,t bring by politicians and relegion fanatics and the issue of being unity among hindu and muslims in India is far from imagine. In a simple approach,Muslim must act in the field of proper education & control their population otherwise terrorism & jehadi would remain in their heart ever. To eradicate this it can only by well education.
the event is a good way to remember a very significant historical uprising. the masses certainly need to be showered with these kinds of events. this is a good way of preserving our past as we stride into the future. the past should not be forgotten. the incidents of the past are a great lesson and reminder for everyone of us to construct a better tomorrow for each one of us and the nation as a whole.
particularly in today's speed age where each one of us are engaged in our own struggle with time, these events are the only way to remind the citizens of this great historical nation of the past which have paved the way for the present times. the contributions of the millions of Indians 150 years ago are the foundation on which we all are living the kind of life we live today. their struggle over a century and a half has made our lives what it is today.

You make a right argument in one sense. But, we don't worry about Yamuna or Ganaga because we are short of nationalism and lack patriots in this country. Hopefuly, such marches revive some nationalistic spirit in at least few youth who can go on to make a difference.
May be a few were inspired to do big things (like SK in Swadesh). That's all we need - few inspired youth.
