RE:SS Menon should learn to be brief.

I agree. It is difficult to even read the text of the speech, what to say of the beleagured listeners. Alas, Indian Diplomacy does not believe in brevity. We take pride in our ability to lecture people. In the era just after independence, we began to lecture the world about our golden heritage and our commitment to peace, friends to all and enemies of none. The ground situation turned out to be one big tragedy. Our so called friends and neighbours called us wily, cowardly, and hypocritical and attacked us mercilessly. In spite of the dramatic difference between then and now, we continue this useless and mostly vain posturing. No foreign policy however well meaning can cut much ice so long as our people continue to elect crooks, freebooters and men of low cunning and innate criminality to the august parliament to guide the affairs of the state. As a major foreign policy initiative we need to put entry barriers to candidacy to membership of the parliament, if possible by amending the constitution. We have clear our own self created mess before we go around teaching the world on peace and good neighbourliness.
We need to make our neighbors understand what is peace. We also have nuclear, neighbors have also nuclear. What else is missing, think about that for peace.
To cut the long story short, firstly, what Mr Menon is expressly suggesting is to cave in to EU/US pressure tactics to remove our stockpile of nuclear weapons and in return for white man's guarantee for perpetual supply of nuclear fuel for our energy burgeoning needs. Yeah right!
Second, he implies that by paying protection money to our neighbourhood moslems(Pak, Bangla, Afghtn) we could buy peace and these moslems would be content as cows and leave us alone. Again, yeah right!

West is far superior than some bunch of un-organized idiots. These idiots doesn't know the difference between sweet & sour. Show them always sour, then only these scums will go down.

Pankaj, you are absolutely right. It is a pattern which keeps repeating itself over and over again. Pak usually has a better performing economy when it contemplates war/strike against India. A fact conveniently forgotten or ignored by our secularists (and Moslems pretending to be secularists). This is due to the fact that they have pathological hatred for Hindus and India%u2019s presence is a constant reminder of that of dar-ul-harb. So they ally with our commies and other useful idiots who further their agenda for free.
So Pakistan should be broken into Sindisthan, Pukhtoonisthan, Baluchistan, Bangabhumi(from Bangladesh) etc. They(Pak) are already leery of such thing happening. All is not okay in those lands. Ther is an uneasy feeling that Pak is already a failed state and beyond any salvaging.

probably one of the most ignorant statement I've heard in my life.. it is people like you who give fodder for 'terrorists' to act.. I am an Indian. I do want peace between our countries.

Dantes,
Saudi is a wealthy country, but still a hub of terrorism. Hence, its not economic indicators that are basis of terrrorism, rather the presence of moslems in those lands.
PKL. Afternoon , 250 pm.,Sunday May 5th 2007. Sri menon indulged in tired reiterations and smug platitudes to delineate What he sees India's Place in South Asia and much beyond Asia, almost across the globe. Of course as a mediocre surveyor of diplomat's terse officialese,Menon could not pinpoint any new determination of his State to enhance the Agenda of a major centre of Popuplation on the Globe. It was as if one was reading some of his dustladen sarkari file on the south-block desk.Do these jet-setting Diplomat ever realize , that their targe audiences such as the one he was addressing at the high -sounding Strategic Institute in London ( may 3)are so callow that they need be peppered with such inanities, to get some effect. British audiences are ,of course , too cultivated to show signs of indignant boredom with his monotonous harangue, but our senior officials could be brief and business -like in their circumlocutions...to get some credit from foreign diplomats...D. Vanzara released many muslim criminals after recieving money.
The JNU marxists supported killing of 12000 people in Nepal for theior rage against history, the same people who wouldn;t say a word against british monarchy killed 12000 nepalis to make it 'secular'.
These menons have nothing to say about that. They like to talk grand to white people, and UN and so on... these are maniacs, possibly neheruvians.

Communism is growing very rapidly in India and it is going to be the next theme of Indian politics. The whole naxalite movement is based on the communist Idea and it has been successful to establish a huge red corridor. The recent killing of 50 policmen by the naxalites was not even considered as an "issue" in India. This free hand to communist and full focus on anti-muslim agendas will only make India more communist than ever before.
