I 'm sure my friend abdul has never read Vedas but I'm surprised that he mentions that caste system is found in Vedas..The four classes (NOT castes)mentioned in Vedas are based on the occupation which they did..In the ancient system, one who learnt & mastered the Vedas became a Brahmin by his OCCUPATION...one who mastered archery & fought for the nation was a Kshatriya and so on.The evidence to this are enormous/numerous. The Gayatri Mantra(considered as the "Head" of all mantra)recited by all the Brahmins was given by Sage Vishwamitra. He was born in a Princely family(i.e.in a Kshatriya family), but became a sage/a brahmin, since he mastered the Vedas.His brother is a King,a Kshatriya.If caste were to be decided by birth in the Vedas, then brothers from the same family could not have become, one a Brahmin and the other a Kshatriya.The great sages who gave the two great Epics of our country were not Brahmins.Epic Mahabarath was given by Sage Vyasa, who was not a Brahmin "by birth". Epic Ramayan was given by Sage Valmiki, who was a hunter (NOT a Brahmin), who then learnt & mastered the Vedas and wrote the great Epic Ramayan. Lord Krishna worshipped by all was born in a Yadav family.I can add numerous examples like this, which are all proofs that caste system was not mentioned in Vedas. People who criticise about Vedas and propagate these wrong ideas ( like our friend here) have not learnt the Vedas at all..or learnt & understood it in a half-baked manner..I totally agree with my friend Abdul that untouchability is something our nation should be ashamed of and we should strive to eradicate it completely.. But these practices came into existence later and introduced by people..Why blame Vedas or Hinduism?? To view this in a much wider sense, such casteism exist in most of the sects/religions in the world..It is utter foolishness to single out Hinduism in that sense. Among Muslims, Shia and Sunni are killing each other in Iraq..There is a huge divide and ongoing controversies between Catholics, Protestants, CSI, Bendecosh,etc,. in Christianity. Many more such examples are there to add. Hinduism was born not as a religion, but as the way of life/ culture for the people who were born and lived in the valley of Sind/Indus. Everyone know that Islam came into India after Mughals' invasion, when they converted Indian citizens by force/enormous torture. Also Christianity came into India after European invasion. No one can deny these.All these is history. I can write about much more on this topic with ample evidence. Let us not shy away from truth conveniently.

I totally agree on the point that every Indian, including our friend Abdul Hazeez, should work to eradicate this. But I don't understand why the Shias and Sunnis kill each other in many "Muslim" countries. They do not consider each others as "just untouchables", but as worst enemies,to the point of killing them. Our friend quotes Vedas as the reason for casteism, which is a big myth. I don't know whether Quran propagates casteism - as Shia and Sunni. But I'm sure Quran does not teach to kill people by blasting bombs. Quran only preaches love,kindness,brotherhood..The terrorism came later and was/is propagated by PEOPLE and not by Quran. Similarly, casteism and untouchability were propagated by PEOPLE and not by Vedas or Hinduism. For anyone to criticise something, the first step is for them to learn and understand that. Only then,they deserve the position to criticise the matter. This is a basic understanding, which any sensible human would agree upon. So to criticise Vedas, one should have learnt the Vedas atleast to some extent. But,our friend is not the first person to do this. People like the so-called great reformer Periyar have done this. He systematically critcised Hinduism / Hindu practices with half-baked understanding of the vedsas;without understanding the depth of the knowledge in Vedas.But he DID NOT crticise Christianity/Islam, although so-called superstitions exist in both these religions. Even few drops from this ocean called Vedas is now making huge impacts in every corner of the world, incuding the Western world.(eg. Yoga). Vedas is the abundance of pure knowledge..All these were systematically destroyed by the invaders to make us feel that we do not have a rich heritage or culture. Once a citizen do not know the rich heritage of his country, then he will not be attached to his nation,he will not be proud of his nation, his thoughts could be easily moulded to one's wishes. This is what the Christian missionaries did when the British invaded India. Otherwise,Why Educational institutions are headed by FATHERS & BROTHERS and not by an Educationalist. In the Western world(UK,USA) educational institutions are NOT headed by Fathers..So why in India?..The motives were rooted long time ago. The implications of this have widespread ramifications in our society.This chapter is a lengthy one to discuss...I have discussed only the glimpse of it.

Bhangi is a slang in pakistani vocabulary, and people of this caste work as bonded labourers and/or as toilet cleaners. Let us come to muslims..what abt qadianis? What to say abt the shia-sunni cat fights? A court in Saudi passed a judgement saying that life of a hindu is less valuable than a muslim, hence shd be paid less blood money..

The practise of slavery was introduced to India by Muslims.
Islamic invaders used to abduct Hindu women and sell them as sex slaves in the markets of Baghdad and Damascus.
The slavery of the blacks too was started by Muslims. It was the arabs who used to go in interior africa to capture slaves and then sell them to christian traders who took them to America.

You are right my firend...Quran never talks about slavery..Its the People who practised this.. Similarly, Vedas/Hinduism never talks about lower castes/untouchability...This practice came in later..But this has changed ignificantly in the past years, although I do not deny that such practices exist still, which we all should strive to eradicate,,.Its a shame... But DO NOT EVER SAY THAT ITS THE VEDAS WHICH PROPAGATED THIS..Which would show one's poor understanding of Vedas..

In Arabic, Ghulam means a slave, and Aaka means slave owner.
Muslims are past masters at capturing other people's women as sex slaves and trading in them. In fact, in middle ages, the Arabian economy was dependent on plunder and slave trade.
This slavery exists in Christian and Muslim culture. It never existed in the East, from India to Japan.

Guys, ever heard of LOK PARITRAN!! These are a group of IIt'ns who are there to serve the nation in their true spirits. I believe LP would be wasting their hard earned money if they fight it out directly. I would suggest that LP makes a name first. Work with villagers and districts and cities. Devise some plans for the education and upliftment of the poor.And things on similar lines. I do not expect LP to get any positions in the elections this time. However, if they persists and work together with the UP public hand in hand, they might get somewhere in the next elections!!
