Education in Bihar
by manoranjan singh on Apr 03, 2007 09:53 AM  Permalink

We are aware about ground realities of Bihar. Now we have to think it is blood of people to become criminal or situation that prevail make them to do that. I have full faith that if we make little attempt to improve bihar in terms of education, poverity eradication and other Infrastructure it will make great impact on life of bihari and situation. But who is interested in doing that ? that is biggest question

This is the real situation in the rural part of India
by Murugan Murugan Murugan on Apr 01, 2007 09:01 PM  Permalink

It's a very meaningful coverup I have ever read in Rediff.com in the recent past. We Indians living in foreign countries well aware that this is the right time to give back to our country and we are ready to do that. This is the condition not only in Bihar but in so many Indian villages. Jai Hindh.

This is not only in Bihar and true for all over in India.

Is it fair to compare this students with the one who is coming from city side schools?????????

These students might not be knowing IITs are there in India? Even if they know, in their dream only they will be studying at IIT because IIT needs a high quality talented students from very good JEE coaching centre and school. That what happening also. No rural student studying B.Tech in IITs(may be very few students). Still students from rural side are intelligent in which case there is no mistakes in giving reservation to them.

Whoever against this reservation should force the GOVT to change the criteria for OBC( Already there are some criteria like income) and should not oppose this policy. This is a very good policy.

Anyway this 27% is extra and not going to affect the anyone.

I am also from the situation as you have seen above. I have done my B.Tech in Anna Univ(entered under BC reservation of TN Govt, Thanks to Govt) and placed in a company called HLL as a research office and Now I am doing my M.Tech at IIT(Enter in OC).

Karthik,

Per Se nobody would be against reservation if it is provided to the needy like the people mentioned above. Touch your heart and tell me In reality is it happening like that? Why many people are against the government's current OBC policy is because the politicians wants reservation for their children also (That is their reason for inclduing the creamy layer on the quota list) and it will be only the politicians kith and kin who would enjoy the benefit of reservation. The philosophy would then become simple, Rich would become Super Rich the poor would become poorer.

Zeppelin, i think you are a typical hare and tortoise story. U have closed eyes on the various Indian Achievements and still think India is poor and backward. You might not be reading papers where Indian Corporates are taking over huge foreign corporates. You can take any developed countries the top person will consist an Indian. You people need us to market your products otherwise your products will go to shit. We are major source of revenue and marketing for major countries of the world.
You take any field and we would be there. You just want to close your eyes at all the developments and look at yourself as better.

We Indians are the best and we tend to help those in despair. The best example is Tsunami & Floods in India, All Indians were on the streets helping other fellowmen UNLIKE USA where after Tsunami there were theft and killings and crime.

SO KEEP YOURSELF BETTER INFORMED OF THE CURRENT DEVELOPMENTS RATHER THEN SLEEPING LIKE A HARE AND THINKING INDIA IS STILL BACKWARD

GROW UP

Shah,
I have been to India, I know how filthy it is. People pissing on road side, spitting everywhere, loaded into bus like animals.
It will be good that if you can learn the basics with the new found money like making que.

Are you REALLY sure?
From the hundreds of Indians I have met Biharis so soft heart, simple and nice people!
They never turn their back to India doesn't matter in which country they are living.
Bihar's reality came as a shock to me in my first visit to India, however I miss deeply the nice people I met there.
Jai Hind!

Yo Zeppelin,
the problem with u guys is that u have never looked deeper into the indian culture and into the American culture. America is like a cake. It looks really good and tasty but when you start eating it you find out all the fat, cholesterol and sugar that it has. India is more like a coconut. It looks ugly on the outside but has really sweet water inside. U just judged India's outside.
DO u want to see US's inside, then read on:

1. School Violence, in USA you regularly hear cases where CHILDREN shoot other CHILDREN just out of fun or jealousy.
2. The government is soo bad that money is the center of all activities. If the govenment can gain money by destroying a country it will do so. (e.g IRAQ, for Oil)
3. Jobs are not really wat people think they are in USA. In india, if your parents are sick or need u, your boss or co workers will look after the job that you need to finish and will let u go. In US everybody is for himself. Ur mom is dying, that s your problem and neither the boss nor the coworkers care.
DUDE i lived in USA and knw reality
these are only some example. I can write an Book on this but i dun got noo time. So really check ur facts before sayin something like that

This is a commendable piece! It shows that journalism doesnt have to thrive on easily available stereotypes and exaggerations.
