Indian Muslims own 600,000 acres of land . yet they are financially weak. if government gives them market price for land, there can be a lot of land for development
The politicians fight elections with money from business houses, so when they win they are made to payback to this blood sucking business.Goverments come up with SEZ policies with an eye on huge tracks of farmers lands at throwaway prices. The main victims are Tribals / Dalits, people living below poverty line. All parties are to be blamed for this, and one can count honest politicians with their fingers in India.

Yes you are right. I agree that the political people are doing business with the nation. Even the Court of Law is not proper in finding the real factors in providing the justification for the common person. But you can not count a good politician, because all are similar type and big cheaters.
I think that your article missed the point completely. Nandigram is NOT about the state grabbing land.
It is about State Terrorism. It is about Murder of innocent citizens. A Jallianwallah Bagh in 2007.
You should be addressing these issues. Has the Indian system been able to remove the Ghost and evils of the Raj??
Or have we inherited a system where the SYSTEM of the Raj is intact. The new rulers are brown skinned shaibs and not the Goras??
It is only when all the members of the police, The CPIM Goon Squad and all the quilty politicians of West Bengal are booked for murder and given either the death penalty or a life sentence - can we say that we have shaken off the Raj.
Else - we are still living under the Raj - albeit under a different name. And land grabbing will not stop. Nor will State Sponsored murders.
Today it is the villagers of nandigram. Tomorrow it could be you and your family.
Ponder my dear Mr. Shenoy, of the point that your are not addressing.
State governments aquire lands at very cheaper rates. In recent years land prices has shot up where builders have an eye especiallY in cities. In remote viallages especially in drought affected area lands are available at through away prices. references MIDCs in Maharashtra and aquisition by CIDCO.According to demands these lands -hundreds of acres of land- are sold at very very high prices. That is why government instead of private parties are aquiring the lands. I should say CORRUPTION ECLIPSE ADMINISTRATION.
I am ready to acquire all the property and land belonging to the CPM cadre in kolkatta including Budhhadeb, CPM Politboru etc . Once the land is acquired i plan to build IT parks, Biotech parks, Export processing zones. The premises will be leased out at the rate of Rs 25 per sq feet . In the first five years it generates Rs 1500 per sq feet, which can take care of the construction cost of Rs 600 , land cost of Rs 300 and intrest and operational cost of Rs 600 . Today BPO KPOs IT cos in india are facing acute shortage of quality space at low rentals in the metros . Lease rentals are in the range of Rs 100 - Rs 400 in Mumbai Banglore etc . At Rs 25 there could be large number of companies setting up operations in Kolkatta. Each 10000 sq feet developed will generate 200 jobs. Please take these proposal seriously . In fact Buddhadeb and the entire CPM Politoru should voluntarily hand over thier land to me advantages One it will send a very positive message to the citizens many more , Second it will silence all your critics mamta included, third it will generate lakhs of jobs. Buddha imagine how many jobs i am going to create and give me your land.

Nice theory dear! let the industrial brigade ponder over it. KUDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOS.
I read it!!! I can write or post any number of times you want Mr. REDIFF!!! one more hit by me to make rediff get more advt. But not in the name of giving national interest decided by foreigners!!!
it is not the industrialists who ask the govt to acquire land. The govt/politicians volunteers, because they can have a say over the industry later. Industrialists do not have an option.
