WASTE OF MONEY
by UmaShankar SathyaKumar on Mar 27, 2007 12:24 AM  Permalink

TO ALL PARENTS AND STUDENTS:

US colleges and Universities want to grab your bank loan and savings to become rich. The US qualification is simply good for nothing thesedays. Don't waste your money to end up working as taxi driver or in petrol station in the US to pay back your loan for years. Many students wants to study in US so that they can somehow find a H1-B sponsor and settle in US. It was suitable during 1990-2000. Now thats not practically makes any sense. The world has changes a lot.

If you want to work and live abroad. Do the following:

1) From the age 14, prepare and study a course in India, which will be highly required in the west. Due to the aging population and with US school students increasingly shunning mathematics and the science subjects, you will have good chances of getting right job.
2) Improve your English and learn a foreign language in India say French, German, Spanish or Japanese.
3) Enroll in Professional associations related to your profession. So, you will know what's happening in your industry in Abroad as well as in India.
4) After working atleast three years in India, Apply for migration to the country of your choice. Australia, Ireland, UK, Germany, France, Italy, Canada and Newzeland and other countries are opening up their stringent immigration policies due to lack of talent and skills.
5) Immigration is far more cheaper than studying in the US. Do not bank on H1-B or Green Card. It is not worth risking your time, money and life for that piece of paper.

I know Indian doctors lived for more than 30 years are coming back to India. Because, they see far more job satification in India by doing what they always want to do rather living as a rich slave in the US.

Remember INDIA IS BETTER THAN MANY WESTERN COUNTRIES IN EDUCATION. I know students of class 6 in the US and UK, who can't read properly in English.

Like Medical Tourism and Outsourcing, You will soon see Schools, Colleges and Universities enrolling NRI and overseas students like the few in Bangalore. It will be called 'STUDY IN INDIA' like Indians do.

Use USA for getting better in Life. Don't let the USA to use you to become rich. Got my point?

Look at the big picture.
by Manny on Mar 27, 2007 12:18 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

It takes brains to see the big picture.

Europeans travelled and took over large globs of land from all over..what is now the US, Mexico, CA, Australia, NZ etc etc...

Do you know the size of Canada? and their population? a paltry 25Million. The entire city of Bombay is what? 25 million?

India has more than enough Indians. Its time to take our share of these vast lands on this earth.

So Indians.. don't listen to these silly narrow minded people. Travel abroad ..take your share of Lands from CA, to US to Australias.... and make India proud.

When an opportunity like this comes, say THANK YOU and Grab it ..for India.

Don't ever listen to a socialist. He has been the bane of India and Indians. They only thing they know is to be humintarians in the bastract and to live in misery! They have never knows success. They don't know any better!

The Reality
by hemal karambelkar on Mar 27, 2007 12:17 AM  Permalink

The USA is quite densely populated country and unlike ccountries like Australia and New Zealand does not lack man power. We should consider how many students really get jobs in their respected professions and how many just earn and drag their life thinking that they are earning lot of money. They forget that whatever you earn working for gas station or any other non skilled profession will never give you satisfaction and happiness. which is main aim of life.

Don't come to USA...
by vi si on Mar 27, 2007 12:00 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Please be aware about the facts....
1. They get lot of money to run their universities as average us student will only work in mcdonalds and not attend MS.
2. Now that jumpimg over the fence in to us is restricted there is lot of shortages for cheap labour and Indian students can fill that gap.
3.No other country is sending their students
china because of development ...and they don't take pakis, bangla and other countries because of security and there is only one country students where they don't have any problems is indians..
4. They will never give you green cards but show you a long light at the end of tunnel that you will get green card after 10 years of your youth wasted for the foreign country.
5. They will never allow your parents be with you for ever ..

Instead try and finish of your education in India,...and gain some work experiance and try to go canada, australia or newzeland as an immigrant not as a student ...it is easy and worth it..

So ...please be aware and don't take any loans to come to USA..If you get free aid then think ...other wise it is waste of money energy and waste of your youth...

Take care and spend your youth for home country which is offering the best on the earth today better than before...

If the VISA rules were tightened
by Manny on Mar 26, 2007 11:43 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Imagine.. if the US restricts Indian students coming here.

The same ingrates would be here railing against the US.

The US is now being nice and encouraging Indian students to come here.. and the usual suspects are here railing against the 'imperialist conspiracy".

The reason behind the socialists are..they have never lived a life of decency and richness. They probably have lived in povety or just on the surface for the most part. So they have this innate suspecions against capitalism and other sucessful people and countries.

They are extremly jelous people.

Reading some of the posts here shows.. how undignified these ingrates are.

shame on you.

I just don't know who are jealous of what ??? Be clear ...Most of the post here are by the people in USA and they are the facts ...The fact USA will not do any thing which is not favouring them ..Full stop...and the favour they get by getting more students is
1. They get lot of money to run their universities as average us student will only work in mcdonalds and not attend MS.
2. Now that jumpimg over the fence in to us is restricted there is lot of shortages for cheap labour and Indian students can fill that gap.

Ok Yakkala since you asked. I bet you are an Mtech guy. You wouldnt act so patriotic if you were an IIT Btech. You would be worrying about your admits and scholarships. And you would be worrying about getting laid instead of posting here. Now get back to your assignments :)

And what is stopping India from doing the same?

People!
by on Mar 26, 2007 11:00 PM  Permalink

You guys can't all believe that students come to the US to make money and be treated as second-class citizens. I came to the US after class 12 to study molecular biology. I have had a wonderful 4 years here, including many independent research opportunities and great friends (American, Indian and from all over the world). I plan to get my PhD and then return to India to teach. I love my country and everyone I have met in the US has been respectful and kind. It is possible to love your country, come to the US, have a good time and then go back and help out.
As far as some comments about "working like dogs" go, I have had to work very hard at my college to do well. You can see it as people making you work hard, or you can put in the effort yourself - no one said life was going to be easy.
