nandigram
by Suddhasattwa Gupta on Mar 23, 2007 02:30 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

state govt alreafy has announced shedding off any idea to set up chemical hub in Nandigram. Moreover since after the tension broke out in the area on last January 3rd, at least twice had state CM Buddhadev Bhattacharya publicly announced that no land would be taken without people's consent. Escalation of tension, rumours, police firing and developments afterwards needs a factual representation.

I personally have good regard for the CM. He is the right man in the wrong party. His intention is good, but the people in his party are all goons & murderers.

CPM stranglehold on bengal
by Srinivas Manda on Mar 23, 2007 02:20 PM  Permalink

The CPM cadres are like a virus that has long since infected bengal and one only has to stay in bengal to grasp to what extent they have control the day to day affairs in a common man's life. Nandigram is a resounding slap in their face and unless they take note and end such strong arm tactics, there could be repurcussions in other parts of bengal as well.

High Time...
by faisal tabrez on Mar 23, 2007 02:08 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

All what is going on is a non stop development of unplanned moves. Since independence all policies were made to die. We never worked on resolving issues but only patched it on timely basis. See where we came from Nations father vision- He said :" while u do an act make sure that u have the poorest known in mind and judge how he gets affected by your move." Today our own Govt. and related officers who praises Gandhi and fixes his pictures in offices do all against his views. We need development but not at the cost of deforming the core policies. Let us see what all happened in near past- labour at delhi mnc were beaten for their protest, mnc's have different offices under different names with liasion offices to avoid taxes and law of land, Labour laws to cut Bal majdoori to handicap a poor family from making it's livelihood, SEZ's to provide land at throw away prices to industrialists, aquisition of farm land for Firms,Lawmakers getting afraid of saying no to corporate world and much more.
See where we are moving to. Again back to pre independence where Britishers were doing the same. Then also there were corporates and they are today too. Independence value have changed. Now we do not want peoples development. It has gone to a different picture develop crorepatis and let farmers and workers die. The social changes turn vital and leads to protest if we do not follow the concept of socio-economic development. Do not go for Crorepati-political dvelopment since it has always paid its dividend as protests or destruction. High time to understand since we are at transition period of changes.

Tension at nandigram
by Biswajit Ghoshal on Mar 23, 2007 02:06 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

If police were having a close eye on the situation, then how the CPM goons could beat the woman??

Clearly, Police, as usual, were helping the CPM cadres. As police minister and cheif minister of the state, Buddha must ensure neutrality of police.

CPM is making a mockery of the country's democratic system. Police must be allowed to work independently - although it would be difficult, as police have over the last 30 years grown to work on the instruction of the CPM's local-committees. Shame of CPM for developing the system this way!!

Also it has been proved by the CBI that the 10 arrested goondas from the nearby brick-clin were CPM-members - how CPM is going to handle that?? It's a total shame for the Prakash and Brinda Karat's party the CPM !!

Apart from CPM atrocities...one needs to understand the nexus between NDTV and CPM as well....

Prakash Karat is the brother-in-law of Prannoy roy(head of NDTV)...thats the reason we always see a bias for CPI/M and a Hindu Bashing in discussions on NDTV.

Boss, if you are a Bengali who stayed in Bengal, you must know (even if the rest of the country does not know) that CPM cadres and west bengal police are just the 2 arms of CPM Govt in all their misdeeds in the past 20 years. For even lodging a simple FIR in police station, in Bengal you have to carry a recommendation of a local committee member. And less said the better about that hypocrite and good for nothing the Karat couple. They are simply No. 1 enemies of the nation.

Nandigram and CPM goondas
by VAK Mumbai on Mar 23, 2007 01:54 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

For a looooooooooooong time CPM has been masquerading as the savior of the peasants and working class though actually their policies have been to deceive the poor and labour class by asking them to struggle relentlessly and thus making them forget their main objectives.

They have fooled the people for over 3 decades and now the time has come to expose their cruel and clandestine roles.

CBI reports have confirmed that NOT police but CPM goondas were responsible for the shooting of innocent farmers in Nandigram.

Being shaken upto their bones they have announced the cancellation of all land acqusitions. Why did they have to wait for 15 people to die and 200 to be brutally injured to take the decision.

CPM has been exposed and people of Bengal will show its displeasure and soon revolt against this organised terror by pary cadres.

Mr Buddhadev Bhattachary should be made to face a trial for Genocide and CPI(M) should be declared as a terrosist organisation. The congress part lead by self declared "clean politician" Mr. manmohan Singh is shielding the left to save its skin.
The presedent should dismiss the WB government to save further innocent lifes from being lost
