PHYSICAL EXERCISES
by dinkar shetty on Mar 19, 2007 01:58 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

FIRST OF ALL, WHEN WE READ OR HEAR LECTURE BY GURUS ABOUT YOGAS/ASANAS ETC, ONE SHOULD KNOW THAT THESE THINGS ARE NOT OFFERING MAGICAL RELIEF. THE RELIEF WHAT WE GET OUT OF THESE ARE FOR NATURAL REASONS. OVERALL REASON BEING- WHEN WE DO ANY PHYSICAL EXERCISE, THE BREATHING CAPACITY INCREASES. WHEN BREATHING CAPACITY INCREASES, ONE PHYSICAL STRENGTH ALSO INCREASES. AS A SHORT CUT TO AVOID PHYSICAL STRAIN, PRESENT DAY GURUS TEACH YOU PRANAYAMA, I.E, SIMPLY BREATHING THOUGH THE GURUS WILL TELL YOU CERTAIN POSTURES OF SITTING AND FINGERING ETC ETC. YOU DEFINITELY GET BENEFIT EVEN WHEN YOU SIMPLY DO THE BREATHING EXERCISES BUT NOT AS MUCH AS WHEN YOU DO PHYSICAL EXERCISE. IT WORKS LIKE THIS-ONE'S LUNGS HAVE A DEFINITE CAPACITY. WHEN YOU ARE DEEP BREATHING, YOU ARE INCREASING THIS CAPACITY FURTHER. WHEN LUNGS HAVE DEVELOPED EXTRA CAPACITY, THEY WILL HELP SUPPLY EXTRA OXYGEN TO BLOOD TO THAT EXTENT. THERE IS NOTHING MAGIC IN IT AND THAT NEED NOT THE WAY GURUS ARE TEACHING. ONCE YOU KNOW THIS BASIC ASPECT, THEN YOU ALSO WILL KNOW IN WHAT POSTURE IT NEED TO BE DONE. GURUS WILL TELL YOU TO DO IT IN CERTAIN WAY OF COMPLICATED POSTURES JUST TO HAVE WEIGHTAGE OF MAGICAL RELIEFS. BUT ONE SHOULD KNOW BECAUSE EXERCISE IS GOOD, IT SHOULD NOT BE DONE HOURS TOGETHER. INITIAL BUILD UP TAKES QUITE A LONG TIME. IF ELDERS ARE STARTING AFRESH, THEY REQUIRE STILL LONGER TIME. BUT ONE THING IS SURE, NO MEDICINE OR TONIC CAN GIVE AS MUCH RELIEF AS PHYSICAL EXERCISES DO GIVE.

REALLY ALL SUDDEN CREDIT GOES TO SH. RAMDEV MAHARAJ WHO BROUGHT IT IN PRACTICE FOR BENFIT OF ALL HUMAN BEINGS SELFLESSILY, AS NO ANY DOCTOR SO FAR SERIOUSILY ADVOCATED.

exercise helps brain
by Kartikeya Kumar Dwivedi on Mar 19, 2007 12:51 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

What i have read and understood from various sources that brain uses more than 90% of oxygen we inhale. Now assume this as 90%. When we exercise we inhale more air and hence more oxygen say 150% but still brain uses 90% oxygen so during exercise the oxygen supply to brain increases and thus exercise helps brain. There was no proof of this earlier but now some one has proved it to be correct.

Then how come some most intelligent people smoke? They inhale CO,CO2 etc and brain does not get any good amount of Oxygen. Still they say that it helps them think more smartly...Is it their excuse for smoking?

I am a diabetic and research shows that moderate exercise helps to balance blood sugar level in the body, and i've experienced this personally and also this is only one of the many advantages of doing regular exercise...of course u'll find exceptions in every thing so body builders may be that exception here(LOL, although i dont agree with this

Bob ...
I guess ... having brains is not going to prove you are GENIUS ... you also need to train your brain in order to do amazing things ... nothing happens on its own! As the saying goes ... 'SHARPEN YOUR AXE' ...
By the way ... Noble prize is given to different type of people ... and not necessarily they should be the most brilliant in the world ... in stead ... they need to be DIFFERENT and EFFECTIVE!

Hey dude, people like you are good for nothing. So, being a fatso is good for the brain? Exercising doesnt mean body building. It could be just keeping yourself fit.

Looks like you seriously need some exercise to make your brain work.

Buddy body builders and exercising are entirely unrelated areas..exercising could mean just jogging/cycling/swimming etc..Body building is not an exercise..It's harmful as well in extremes because of the consumption of steroids etc.. And that body builders have no brains is a myth..Arnold and Slyvester Stallone achievd so much without brains..not possible..They've got to be shrewd as well..
Bob Jindal..you've got your facts all wrong..I guess you are the couch potato types!!!That's a good excuse to yourself not to exercise..but does not convince anyone else!!!

Actually , nobel prize or any 'brain achievement" is a result of endeavour in that field for years. A body builder's endeavour is to build body. He/ she may have an excellent brain , but due to dedication to body does not use it as much as person with "brain achievement" does.

Add Excercise with Morning Chores
by asokan a on Mar 19, 2007 12:23 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

The only reason people dont exercise is laziness. They should make it a habbit. Add exercise as one morning chore. Brisk walking in the early morning gives good results. It brings good luck. Try.
