Good for west Bengal..Let it remain an under-developed state, that's why India can never become China...Good for other states like Orissa.

kaushik, you have forgot one thing : be it gujarsthi, punjabis, or south indians, all have the liberty and freedom to locate themselves wherever they wish to and earn a lively hood. Bengal is not an exception and bengalis are spread across the nation. It seems you are just a frong in the so called pond of a particular area so naturally does not know the world around you.

wel said nair sir,

kaushik sir,

if you think, people from all other stas has acumulated here then what are the yours bangali bro are doing in other parts of india.

WB is not the property of bangalies.

don't forget, the bengalies freedom fighters fought for the freedom of entire india's freedom
not only for Bengal. Same is true for other states freedom fighter.

if Bengal has the best agricultural land in india, it the matter of proud not for shame.

first of all, choose a government who can give u a neat & non-corrupt administration, re-open closed industries & specially it should be people friendly.

I agree with you bansal. So much of labour unions are not good to any state. kerala is marooned in labour unions. strike, bandh, hartal, fast unto dealth are the order of the day. Thus, industrialists are reluctuant to come to our god's own country.

Therefore, it would be in fitness of things, if tatas or birlas leave bengal forthwith and look for alternate sites. incidentally politicians do not suffer but the people of bengal, i love all of you, as an indian

Confused and disoriented
by smruti parida on Mar 17, 2007 05:27 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Now u solved your problem, made a political escape, communists, but the trails u left is not only going to hurt bengal but also other parts of india, when it comes to land acquisition.

The crisis in nadigram or singur is definitely lack of vision and tactfulness on the part of communist rulers. Socalled "leaders" of farmers and workers are bleeded and grounded by those for whom they pretended to fight and alive in the political hrizone by fooling them. Now take it, there something wrong in ur policy and ideology which u need to revamp with time.

U taught farmers and workers to protest the govt. for anything and everything. This is just what they are doing. So its not their fault.

This is not just an alarm for communists but also for cong. Bowing under pressure doesnt help. See u in the next election.

Kaushik, if you do not like a particular party and if their performance is not up to the level, keeping in mind the progress of the state, throw them away in the next election and look for an alternative. Blaming a party after its election does not serve any purpose.

WB Govt to stop land acquistion
by later gupta on Mar 17, 2007 05:14 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

The decision taken after the meeting is a patchy solution!
Will the acquired lands be returned?
We know a proverb very well "chore chore mastuto bhai"
We knew about this decision beforehand!
We will see many repeatations hereafter! just wait!

Please remember there is no difference between COMUNIST and CANCER. Almost entire world has rejected it.

Just look 40 year back when Kolkata was no 1 industrial city in India and what is now????. We should seriously think on that.

However we should understand that there is an urgent need of industrialization also therefore such project should continue but in better manner

Its unfortunate that use of force is done today as well!!!
by Bisheshwar Mishra on Mar 17, 2007 05:11 PM  Permalink

It seems that we are once again back to not being a free state. So much of the fight our fighters have fought earlier and today citizens are killed for the name of industralisation. There are huge swathe of land with Government, why aren't they using it, why are they hell bent upon removing this small farmers and small landlords?

Pl for the sake of industries at don't kill protestors, who I beleive are getting instigated by opposition. Requirement is to inform and update the protestors, bring them in the fold but not by force. I hope all will heed, merciless killing will not help.

Left front has to understand that the resistance to industries is because their long drawn policies of no industrilisation. You reap what you sow is the old saying. The toxins will go but it will take its own time.

Till then be patient.

You donot need to have 400000 hectares at one place to have industrial complex. People should have good sense of understanding to respond. Why dont you think of the arid lands of Purulia and Bankura and increase the per capita income of these undeveloped regions?

Can the Chief Minister give back the lost lives?

It is really difficult to accept that after the lives of so many innocent people are lost , the Govt. has backtracked on this issue. Can the Chief Minister return back those lives? If not he should be held responsible and go to nandigram first and beg for pardon.

Industrialisation is happening in nearby Orissa & the rest of the country, but not at this cost & use of force. These kind of atrocities can be committed in Communist China, but not in Democratic India.
