Nandigram Issue
by Vineet Kalra on Mar 15, 2007 04:36 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

It is really unfortunate, Reliance acquire huge land in Hariyana and Mahrashtra by giving very good prices of land directly to farmers, no involvement of Govt. acqusition of land(who pay very less) let give much more than the price of land as per Govt. Company himself come forward and give a reasonble or say handsome proposal of compensation (like Money, same area of land at other place, school, hospital, roads, electrcity, drinking water, irrigation at new location)Farmers himself accept acqusition, than no politician can excite them to run their shows( Communinst Use your mind , dont use musceles , dont abuse power)..........rest after comments

(Im)pure Politics
by N Venugopal on Mar 15, 2007 04:32 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Displacement of native people, surely brings hardship to them when relocate from their native place and local jobs. It is not easy for them atleast for this generation(say 10 years). However, the major point here is TC will loose the votes from Nandigram which traditionally voted for them. Had it been a CPI(M) supporting place, these problem may not be there. If it is not for (Im)pure politicking, Nandhgram would have been a peacefull Industrial area in west Bengal.

Iqbal,it is exactly because there are people like you, ready to be divided on any excuse, that these situations arise where an alternative opinion is to be either forced down or it is to be replied with force.Do you say HAIL HITLER when you go to bed???If you donot understand the issue, please donot dilute it.People got killed-whichever side is right,in a democracy this has to be criticised. For that matter in any cracy,if yout near one gets killed, you feel hurt.Cosider going back to kindergarden if you donot understand this. And I know what the tone of your protest will be,and so do most of the people who bother to care.

Nandigram massacre
by guru prasad nanjundan on Mar 15, 2007 04:32 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I would like to ask Mr.Yechury (Old timers of JNU would remember this incident) Mr.Yechury remember Bedi and Durrani incident! when they were beaten up by SFI gang with hockey sticks. (a prelude to what would happen under CPI(M) rule?) You talk of trapped CPI(M) cadre. How about protecting innocent farmers trampled by state power. When CPI(M) uses its power, it is to protect law and order. If it is done by any other party, then it is suppression/oppression of fundamental rights?! So you want industrialisation at any cost?

the handling of the situation by the police should be strongly condemned .......the west bengal gvt should come clean on this issue .
its not uncommon for the police to unleash this kind of action againt poor people.........
the power of the police should be limited . we need to have a debate on hw n wn the police force can be used.

WHy are u so concerned about arguing for the WestBengal Government all the day. I have seen so many posts by you here.
KIlling of innocent people cannot be accepted under any pretext. Are you and your family ready to part with all the land you have, the only source of income being the agricultural income from the field. Do you believe that you will part with your land happily and go to road the next day? And even if you argue that way do you think it is possible for a poor farmer with a few cents of land to do so, his only income comes from the land.
Never be a hypocrat or be a Hitler

"THESE BONGS WILL NEVER LET ANYTHING GOOD HAPPEN IN THE STATE.

THEY WILL ONLY BEG."

For good or bad this is a situation created by the Communist Government themselves.
I agreed with them whenever they stood for hearing the side of the poor farmer and peasants too.
But No more. This one has caused strong emotions. The present Government can never excape from the memoirs of this incident.
