India on fire?
by Suresh Menon on Mar 15, 2007 03:21 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Naxal attacks, ULFA massacres, Nithari killings, Nandigram firing, Indian fishermen gunned down by Sri lankan navy and captured by Pakistanis, BSF jawans being horribly tortured by Bangladeshis...

India is failing to command the respect of her neighbours, they don't care much about us anymore.

REASON: Lets call a spade a spade; We have a government at the center that's soft, humble and gentle. They are more worried about keeping their numbers in tact by playing petty communal and casteist cards than protecting the integrity of the nation.

I belive it was a much better time when a non-Gandhi PM ruled us from 91-96. He could effectively put down violence and terrorism in the country.

Surely, thi no gandhi was too coward to cross the border during Kargil. He simply let hundreds killed and used Bofors to safeguard himself.

This is happening b'coz of the misrule of commies for lat 20 years. Bengali's themseleves are responsible for this. They should have kicked out commies out of power atleast once in last 20 years. While other states were marching ahead,Bengal was marching towards anrachy. First the illegal Bangaladeshi's have to be kicked out of our nation, then only Bengal see some development. Otherwise this chaos will continue.

No, you are wrong, communist come by a revolution, rule, become absoutely corrupt, and then communists are dethron by another revolution. That is the history of, Russia, Pollan, Romania etc., and partly Chaina. So, don't be biased. In line of that West Bengal communists are absolutely corrupt, accept the fact.

I am from south and love communists.. else if bengal and east starts developing, then growth will dillute in south.. now look at it.. south is buzzing with commerce, industrial activity, IT, services.. we want this to remain here or in the west india only.. no MNC in their right mind will want to step into a minefield like bengal

In this entire episode, most funniest thing is that Prime Minsiter of India is a silent Spactator on this burning issue. What is the responsibily of PM ? To watch cooly the death of innocent villagers .
Why not PM invite both the parties (Cheif Minister & Mamta) & discuss across the table . I think, with positive attitude , solution is possible . Atleast make a attempt please.
Same on you Manmohan Singh !!!!

it is very bad, that people had to shed blood for sake of industtrialisation. my sympathies with the families. I am not from bengal but I am opposed to the project, because I want all growth and industrial, IT etc; to happen only in my neighbourhood--south and west.
this incident will roll back bengal to 1990s.. bengal people dont deserve growth.

The incident of Nandigram revealed that the Chief Minister of West Bengal is behaving like Hitler. The incident can only be compared with Jalianwalabagh.

Government of India must take appropriate action against the Govt. of West Bengal and erring Police officials.

These farmers have become a
by Anand Krish on Mar 15, 2007 03:12 PM  Permalink

They are pulling everyone down - themselves and others. In India 70 crore people are in agriculture - while agri's share of GDP is hardly 15% (in white) . India's black economy (un accounted - not illegal) is mainly in Industry and services and is supposed to be as big as white.

That makes agri' share in overall economy as low as 7% (black and white put together).

We are trying to help these guys by setting up factories so that they can have good jobs. They are a burden and liability to India now
