Poltical Mileage....Looser:Innocent Farmers
by Rabi Saha on Mar 15, 2007 07:02 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

You are fighting like a true fighter, showing a hunger, a vision we have never seen in a TC leader, other than this so called "Didi".Buddy why don't u join politics?...mudslinging and discussions frm outside willn't serve purpose...pls have a say in the asli Indian Political Tamasha. With due respect to her and her ideology, I want to say few things.Nandigram was tense for more than 2mnths.Now y'day incident was really a sad thing but do u think she is fighting for the cause of poor farmers. Then why there is no voice in Singur now.Just b'cause these TC leaders just want to play the spoilsport when WB is atleast finding a place in World Corporate Map.They now observe that all those pumping, jumping and the hunger strike is going in vain, Tata's factory work is going in full swing, so just to show their presence they r creating this furore and playing bloodsport with innocent villagers.Coming back to fertile land do u think these CPI-M people haven't shown the barren land to the investors and just taking the fertile lands.WB Villages are the strongpoint of CPIM's 30yr reign and they r not fools to take away the lands just b'cause they want it.Corporate people are also chking lands which will be suitable for their business..e.g. Tata has done Soil testing on singur land...can neone say WHY?....nobody is looking into this...
all of us are saying abt Left's unaccountable failure but this is also very much true other than Left no party thin abt Farmers....look at Maharashtra...why so many farmers are committing suicide?....but here BJP and ShivSena are opposing Left....same for Left...here they r supporitng it but opposing in other parts of the country. These are all political drama....pls I request to all the well educated readers...don't draw urself into this didi vs buddha drama....under the cover they r same...both r honest but poilitically....other thing I want to say(specially for those who are blindly supporting this caricature by didi) do u ppl really think that she has some clear agenda in her mind....so fickleminded lady surrounded by all those semi-literate ppl will hamper a state's progress...whatever it is today she'll just thrash it...if she is not then her so called youth leaders and cadres...all very frustrating...in 30 yrs there is no such constructive thinking frm a opposition leader...so shall we vote her?....better be with LF....so many wrong doings still 30yrs of tenure...though Didi will tell that this is all by rigging and blah blah...but is it possible...I don't think so...everybody in the pole somehow rig....even in a somewhat silent constituency like Manicktala we have seen this during a prominent TC leader's tenure...now don't say LF did that....they were not present in ne of the Kolkata constituency by people's verdict....now Mr Bhattacharya wants to do something which can bring a radical change in WB but these people think that if he succeeds then that'll end of the opposition...already got a good thrashing in the last election....even TC Leader Mr Pandey has said that....now we ppl will say that he's trying to gain political mileage...then what is didi doing?....when she see that Panchayat Election is just after 1 yr...she tries to seize the political mileage and thus causing the rift btn might of LF vs TC and even frm no where Mr. Siddiquallh become a face of WB...and these poor ppl are following their words not thinking of their own good....pls look for a better, developed WB....Bandh will only hamper it...using these poor farmers as a shield for fight of power btn these parties may backfire....beware of that....and can neone suggest why after so many days of land grabbing why Didi started her agitation so late??...I know lots of criticism I'll face but this is true I am not political in my view....

cheap politician mamata
by Kasyap on Mar 14, 2007 10:57 PM  Permalink

Another Bandh in WB and that also when the state exams are starting.. pathetic, what is the relationship between calling a Bandh in WB over killing of six people in Nandigram, bandh can be called in Nandigram only.
Mamata is the cheapest politician most probably in Indian poltical history and bad luck for WB that she happens to be in WB.

It is high time mamata stops playing with the lives of people for gaining political mileage. countless times we have seen her antics, her futile attempts to frame others. There must be an end to it now.

State sponsored terrorism
by abhijeet dasgupta on Mar 14, 2007 08:27 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Dear all, we can continue the debate either for or against CPM/MAMATA but first let us start thinking like human beings. Some heads are going down in shame because of the bandh call. I ask those friends to see the footage shown by Tara News & Kolkata TV (both went off air from evening for unknown reasons). Tell me friends - when the state machinery adopts a fascist stance to capture fertile lands from peasants and resistance results in murder(20 by last count, more injured will die in the course), what else can be done to protest, except calling a bandh? The only other way is the ultra left way of doing things. Is that more agreeable? We, the people who got net access, mostly belong to the middle class who stands to gain most from industrialisation. Shall we keep our eyes closed to state sponsored terrorism for petty gains?

P.S. : am no fan of mamta either. she needs issues, thats all. but what about the poor peasants of nandigram who are being killed by the state for trying to stick to their only means of livelihood?

TC calls for Bengal bandh
by later gupta on Mar 14, 2007 08:24 PM  Permalink

When one hears "over 20 bodies were found in Nandigram and more than 200 people received bullet injuries in police firing at the trouble spot in East Mindapore district." the question that springs up is "Why deaths and bullet injuries?
Is it for grabbing 3 crop fertile lands? Why barren lands are not chosen? Why many closed factory premises are not utilised? Is it by virtue of POWER one has lost WISDOM? And the blunt followers ?What will you achieve?
Blaming an after efect is easy BUT BLAME GOVT's
UNWISE DOGGEDNESS BEFORE THAT Wont you?
THIS IS A CLEAR SIGN OF PERISH FROM POWER SOON!

Why only Fertile lands
by Pavan Kumar on Mar 14, 2007 07:55 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I just cannot understand why govt or industries require only fertile or cultivated lands. To construct industrial building and install machinery why does some one need fertile lands? Industrialization is required and it is must, but that should not be at the cost of agriculture. People give examples of west industrialization, but they do not talk on what lands these industries are build. How many industries built on fertile lands in west? Moreover, what is the percentage of western population depended on agriculture when compared to India. What about huge subsidies western countries offer to their framers? In spite a huge population depended on agriculture we never had any productive agricultural reforms or farmer friendly initiatives.

Developing agriculture sector helps country in many ways:
1)      Stops heavy rural migration to urban
2)      Control rural poverty
3)      High percentage of unskilled labour are engaged with work for most part of the year

Agricultural growth and Industrial growth are two eyes to the economy. By killing one eye and glorifying the other, we can never attain a sustainable economic growth. It always would be a one sided growth and more dangerous than a no growth.

My only point is govt and industries using fertile land for industralization across the country. Nothing to do with WB politics. My opinion had nothing to do with naxalites or extermist, voilence of any kind should be regretted. It looks like what ever is happening in WB now is more political stunt/fight rather than a farmers protest. Seems poor farmers became scape goats in Mamata and CM political games.
