Wow. Being from Karnataka, i have been hearing the word Kaiga from my school days. And i remember reading that this is the place where a nuclear power plant existed. Never knew that it was not operational. True to their reputation like most other government projects, this too has taken it's own sweet time.

That's right. I've grown up listening this project will be functional in the coming days, which had turned out to be true after decades.

You are mixing up different reactors. 2 Kaiga reactors are already operational- for 7 years now. This is the 3rd, and there is at least one more coming.

You have not understood the subject matter fully. You did not know that these Reactors are the additional Reactors built in the second stage.
People like you must inculcate the following habits :
1. Develope a sense of Optimism.
2. Think twice before making a negative remark like this. Only old people tend to become pessimistic and look at the negative side of everything.
3. Please stop reading news items like Corruption, Theft, Rape, etc which imbibe negative feelings in your mind.
Instead read positive news items.
Do you know the following w.r.t Atomic energy ?
a) We are running the Tarapur Reactors for more than 30 years by proper maintenance / modifications, even while the other 10 Reactors which were built along with these 2 Reactors were closed down by US Companies long back due to Technical snags.
2. We have the World record of Non-Stop running of a Nuclear Reactor between any two outages.
3. Departmnet of Atomic Energy is building the indegenious Industrial infrastructure required for manufacturing large / critical equipments even while developing the Nuclear Technology.
