If we make Akhand Hindustan by merging with Pak and Bangladesh - then the Indian Hindu's would be doomed for ever - and India would become an Islamic state within 10 years. So don't ever think of it.
But again, not letting ties improve remains in the best interests of both, Indian and Pakistani, governments. Defense deals are the most lucrative for the ministers...who is gonna be mad enough to let the ties improve???? ;)

Correct, given both the nations have the most corrupt and inefficient governments. After all, there are many more Quattarochi's and Ahuja's to come.. :D

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaoooooooooooooooooooooo , yeh awaaz kaisee lageee, how was the sound???? am I better than Manmohan in making sounds? I can make from my mouth and from my bum alike.
I seriously think that instead of harping about improving ties with Pakistan, the PM should concentrate more on securing domestic issues...and ONLY THEN think about international problems. Waise bhi apne desh main kya kam problems hain??? Pehle woh sudharo aur phir socho ki sarhad paar kya karna hain ya kya nahin!!

Well thats not possible. After all one full ministry service would be out of job .. "External Affairs" LOL!!!
And given the setup we live in, both have to be taken into account, though prioritising is definitely an issue

lol@external affairs!!!!...true! but then since all politicians have a penchant for re-naming places, roads, etc....they can re-name it as "Internal Affairs - Ad Hoc Ministry"..!! LOLL
He must have cracked this joke for the Congress men so that they can come out from shocks of defeat in Punjab and Uttarakhand. And to make madam Sonia smile for the Quattrochi episode. To who ourPM making this statement? Becuase we all Indians know what type of relations Pakistan maintains with us.Look at latest statement of Baluchistan. He must have cracked this poor joke to please to USA.This joke fits him beacause After all he is sardarji.

he deserve all respect who started economic reform. But he is the most weekest PM of India. This fact you have to accept. Now these people are mooting for reservation in private sect
I do agree that he is the weakest PM, India has seen. But still he deserves as much respect. Maybe for him strength cannot come from his own party members. But its us from where all power is derived. So, atleast we should exude confidence in his capabilities.
After all, it we as people who voted all of them in there.

I know that, but atleast we as citizen should respect him. I have two reasons for it: 1. He is a learned man. 2. He is the PM of our nation.
I have great respect for you as an economist. But thats what you are and you should probably stick to steer the country towards a robust and long lasting economy where ultra rich, rich, not so rich and more importantly the AAM ADMI are all poised for growth.
But since you became the PM, the general feeling is that you are only on "On Her Majestys Service".. You are a man of such high calibre and lofty ideals, there is no need for you to be the "Fall guy" always by making such statements. I have never heard any of Pakistans leaders to be the first to say "Ties are improving"..even if we make efforts they will not to say so. Its very simple, if you say that ties are improving, the UN, US and the world perception is pakistan is doing something and sparing no effort to improve the ties. But its actually us who are sparing no effort and Pakistan gets the credit.
Think of it sir, if Mush makes a statement "Ties are improving", then the world perception changes to "India is surely making things happen".
History has it that we commit the same mistake over and over again and fall into the same trap.
Its time we shut up and let pakistan do the talking..

Absolutely correct. In Indian politics "koi kisi ka nahin hota". Even a upright man like our PM cannot do much about it. Its all just a game for them, game of human lives, countless currency notes, prestige in thier constituency and power at large.
Yes, for the economics of the subcontinent, it better improve. Yes, the common man still dies. Who cares! Need oil, nuclear power, so it better improve.
RE:For economics... yes
by anchal sultania on Mar 08, 2007 04:01 PM Permalink
You are so obsessed with the economics. What about the countless human lives which get sacrificed and the terror under which the people from both the nations reel?
Economics will be there only if people would be living to relish it.
