The legacy of Terrorism
by ravi prakash on Mar 08, 2007 04:45 PM  Permalink

Most nations had to fight terrorism on their own and there would be only a few who could escape it. The causes for terrorism have been very diverse also. But whenever the terrorists gained the upperhand the situation degenerated into civil wars with horrendous slaughter of innocent men, women and chlidren.
In the fight against terrorists the Nation state is at war-although undeclared on the terrorists.
The case of Srilanka highlights the fact that the nation has to fight it out on its own. The IPKF experiment can be called as the sincerest joint terror fighting mechanism, came to nothing. Today, India is loathe to enter into any joint mechanism to fight the LTTE.
The joint terror mechanism with Pakistan is a non starter because, the terrorists acts in India is not their problem. No deft diplomacy will ever get the Pakistanis to see it as their problem. Neither, will India see the terror groups involved in sectarian clashes in Pakistan, see it as its problem.
Fundamentally, there is no terror problem in PoK where there should have been one when these fundamentalists talk of Kashmiriyat or a common Kashmiri culture.
The terrorist problem in J&K will be a problem of India and violence will beget violence as a result. The Indian state has to acquire the knowledge and power to handle all forms terror in its midst with new weapons not only destructive but also of constructive ones to deplete the ranks of the terrorists.

Hidden agenda of Congress leaders...
by Kishore Babu TVN on Mar 08, 2007 04:43 PM  Permalink

Its simple,vote-bank policies.Truth is bitter, but there are so many minorities in India who love pak more than India. To get thier

votes and to project themselves as secular leaders they go soft on pak.Pak leaders knows it and they are using it to cover their devil faces.

Sad part is if these indian muslims goes to pak then these ppl will be treated as Mahajirs more or less equal to servants, and will be suppressed like anything.

examaples are MQM movement, there MQM's are nothing but Indian muslims who went to pak thinking of heaven and found hell there.

Knowing this, unfortunately most of the Indian mulims bark against INdia. Its all due to Gandhi and Congress leaders who broken the concepts of Nationalism and brought

nonworthy secularism to project themselves as leaders and to rule India forever.Ultimately Indians are paying for their hidden agenda.

Intelligent manupulation
by N Venugopal on Mar 08, 2007 04:35 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

As the saying goes "Crying baby gets mother's milk" Pakistan always cry in the national, international, bilateral, UN and all and every means to cry, cry and cry. India's silent is taking its toll. India's position vs Pakistan is as of the Indian middle class, Neither able to cry nor able to lough, just keep suffering in silence.

by ajay waghmare on Mar 08, 2007 04:31 PM  Permalink

This is because our leaders are most intrested in finishing there tenure of rule (remember how they celebrate 100 days/1 year etc. in power)
nationalism is left far behind in the text books.

India walks into Pak anti-terror trap
by Ananthakrishnan Parthasarathy on Mar 08, 2007 04:13 PM  Permalink

Mr. B.Raman's analysis is really good.Kudos to him.The Indian Government has successively fallen into PAK's designs. Are the politicians who run the Government feel so enthused to flash PAK card to show the world as to how accommodating they are?We should learn lessons from Isreal,China and even Germany as to what Nationalism is.
