Oldage homes
by Anita Kumar on Mar 08, 2007 11:13 AM  Permalink

There should be more homes for the aged where the aged can live in peace and dignity.Instead of leaving their wealth to undeserving kids it is better to pay and stay in such a place.I would love to be a founder member, location,Lucknow.Soon to be prime candidate!

Abandoned by their own, the law will not help them
by ramakrishnan kesavaprakash on Mar 08, 2007 10:45 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I am sorry to say this, if u go thro the life history of this Old people, u could find one thing, A woman is an enemy to another women. Requesting you to apologise for my saying as a male I have gone through this. Thank God, till now my parents are safe in their own flat at chennai, ofcourse till now both of us visiting each other once in 3 months and they willcome and stay with for two months at Pune.
As it comes to one patti, (Old lady) today's genrations are using the elders just as an Ayyamma and throwing them out once their work is done. For eg. for working young ladies they need their help till the child goes to scholl, once it this is done and then sory, this is not the place for u.

But I have seen families where Old ladies making the young generations girls' life miserabale, particulary working girls as In laws. They have to suffer at both ends (Work place and at Home). I have seen this also in this society. I have seen the girls do not have support even from their Husbands or atleas a word of sorry or love from the husbands. This is also very very Bad

As I said earlier A women is an enemy to another.

Teach right morals to children right from schools. Now a days schools are more interested in making money and not teaching. Children can go to private tutions to learn.

Parents and society should behave in such a way that they have a positive influence on children. They should grow up to become responsible citizens, caring for thei parents, elders, society and the country.

morals can't be taught. so just making the kids mug up theories on morals will just increase their burden by one more subject. the problem is due to the changing attitude... the only solution is that parents should start planning for their retired life and not spend each and every penny on their children. with an onslaught of globalisationa and consumerism, people the selfishness will only increase with time. so, don't lament that your children are not taking care of you, save enough to take care of yourself. gone are the days when investing in children was secure :)

Develop infrastructure for financial help
by on Mar 08, 2007 08:25 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

One of the things I get very frustrated is there is not much of an infrastructure to help such endeavours financially. If you could provide us with a website say to pay by credit card it would be great. I am looking for opportunities to help and plz I request such organizations in India to invest in a little bit of technology to make money transfers far more easier. Plz my very humble request. I honestly dont have the patience to write a checque and mail it. Plz improve the scenario in this regard. Plz.

Any person who read an article of 5-6 pages and able to write a 4 line comment a public web site must have a time put a signature and write an address on envelope.

Not everybody uses internet and computers these days. If you want help them, find a way or time to help them.

You might be right on a time that people can put in. But here the situation is worse that even people avoided writing mails or sending greeting cards thru post. Everything comes online. So if they could improve on their technology people can easily transfter the money.

Next in line??
by shweta iyer on Mar 08, 2007 07:29 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

By the look of their messages, I guess Mr Manish Rogi and Mr Sudershan Govindan would be the next in line to lead their mothers into Vishranti. So what if parents are a little possesive? You are their flesh and blood arent you? All they need is a little more attention and assurance that you'll be there to take care of them. Be more magnanimous and not so petty.
Shocking that Mr Rogi chose a public message board to malign his own mother!!
