As u sow, so u reap
by thiagarajan muthukumar on Mar 07, 2007 05:42 PM  Permalink

Never ever make a mistake of keeping ur parents in a home of poor like this, as ur time is not far away. Parents are respected, lovable and they should be kept in your heart and never ever throw them into any dustbin and u will repent it for ur lifetime. Give all the comforts to them for that u enjoyed from them during ur childhood.

A law to understand
by sunil ananda on Mar 07, 2007 05:39 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

the so called new law is just a paper tiger with no enforcement mechanism.Rather the govt should create a string of institutions like vishranthi with the support of self help groups in their neighbourhood and who can provide succour to any old person .we have the moral duty to provide a peaceful life during the sunset years. This will be much more helpful than oldage pension which may be used by the socalled relatives

Creating more instituions is also not the solution. People don't have moral responsibilty. Having moral education as a subject in the school is not enough.
I remember one elderly person telling me that an ideal society should not have any oldage homes, orphanages etc. Orphans should be taken care-off by each and every home and not by the Govt.

Parents - Our Life Line
by Amita Maitra on Mar 07, 2007 05:39 PM  Permalink

In this world of technology and growth, see where we are living? It really painful to release that we have reached the peak of inhuman behaviour. For God sake...Accept the truth that it's only because of our parents we still exists!!!

hi Poorna,
In Mumbai itself (Panvel) there is an organization called JANKALYAN SEVASHRAM - http://members.rediff.com/ganya/janakal.htm where old aged parents and orphans are taken care of. You may be interested to visit the place and see for yourself the services rendered therein.

Abandoned by their own...........
by govindan iyer on Mar 07, 2007 05:37 PM  Permalink

Shame on the children who abandon the parents. Shame on their selfish attitude. They dont deserve a place to live having kicked the wombs they came from. Hats off to Vishranthi and Ms Savithri Vaithi. Let the recognised politicians like our PM / president recognise these Great Gods in selfless service (like what Mr Vajpayee did in honour of Chinapillai)

Abandoned mothers
by Divakar Hombalgatti on Mar 07, 2007 05:37 PM  Permalink

A mother is always great and no GOD can take her place. Why does the current generation ignore the parents ? This is one part of the story. But there are parents who do not want to live with their children even if u plead them to. No dout, there is an element of selfishness everywhere, but why don't we live with a good understanding ? It is most necessary in the current scenario.

they (today's generation) are not thinking when they are abandoning their aged parents
they are also to face the same moment at their
aged , now they are young & energetic, but think what the third generaion will do to us.
