This is what Mechical Engrs told people
Computer Engg!!!
After finishing degree, go and put a type
writing institute!!!
If Computer Engineers put type writing institute
think about it, shall we able to think about
raising poor??? Now, we were able to raise
24% from poverty!!! Let us build wealth & then
we raise the poverty step by step. If we
telling poverty & stop building wealth, then
we cannot build wealth & we cannot raise the
poverty also!!!

I am telling Mechincal Engrs because, at that
time there was very high scope for Mech Engrs.
But Computer Engr was a new field at that time.
Not telling other fields were bad or anything
else, please pardon me & please don't comment
on divisions in Engr fields.

The cost is always affordable if there is quality. Indian education is very crude and unattractive. Like a kid taking several shots of vodka- indians are given sevral shots of calculus and physics. The end result- Engine stall- Like a plane trying take off with very high pitch and full flaps.

So Indian needs a complete reform of education system. Cost can always be dealt somehow.

Inflation control
by Surya on Mar 07, 2007 09:26 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I think the finance minister must concentrate on PRICE CONTROL than increasing taxes. When one controls price of commodities in this country it helps in the development of the country.People will value and respect a single Rupee, today nobody cares Rupee because there is no price contol so the prices are going high and people cannot live decent life with what they are getting so they demand increase in pay which the government instead of working on tougher work like price control will increase the salaries so there is more money in the hands of people now what again the business people will increase the prices and again people fight for salary increase and then again same incompetent government makes the same mistake of raising saliries instead of price control and it goes on untill the price of 1KG tomato becomes 1000Rs and the salary of average person becomes 50000Rs or may be more.Instead of that the government can implement tougher laws on PRICE CONTROL then we can have 1 Rs kg Tomato and 5000Rs salary which will be enough for comman man.

Yes, we need to control the prices.
Who will allow a 1 KG tomato to Rs. 5000,
in this globalized world. Let the tomato
price becomes 1/10th of that said price and
see, how many people ready to import!!!
So, don't get un-necessary fear & also feed
un-necessary fear into people mind.

'Cost of education worries me'
by S Kiran on Mar 07, 2007 11:51 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

The high cost of education in India is mainly due to the owners of the educational institutions. They are owned by MLAs, MPs who twist the laws in their favor. Crack down on them, as a first step.

India is on track of progress, have no doubt about it
by Shantanu Bapat on Mar 07, 2007 06:41 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I am telling this as someone who left India in 1995, still go there and see the difference. I visited my college(Engineering and not a regular BCOM and not IIT) and everyone had a job. This is a huge change, because when I graduated only 9% managed jobs, rest did MTech or prepared for IAS/IPS and other Govt jobs. It was time when I had two goals, either go to US or clear IAS/IPS/IFS and Govt job. Jobs in Telco,TISCO,L&T, only paid 4000-5000Rs for an engineer.
Compare it to today, 2007. I went to my Engineering college and none of the Kids there want to appear for IAS/IPS. Who would when all would get better paying jobs with much better conditions.
Same is true for Non-Engineering degree colleges. Did you know pre-1995, commerce, arts graduate bribed to become a teacher in school! Do you see that happening now? Now there are so many avenues for young generation.
Just my perspective.

All,

Its is a social issue.Everyone should fight against it. What i believe is those who have enough money are ready to give what ever the schools asks they are not thinking of common man. That's reason for rise in land price too.

This mind set of high income people should change. They should think before sepending each and every paise. Unncessary demands will increase the price....
