Before taking any step against Maoists, communists in India must be banned. They created Maoists and support them directly and indirectly at home, outside home and globally. All the time communists take all anti-national, communal policies just in the name of people cause of socialism.
Maoists (extreme leftist) are terrorists in India - that is even described by the Indian communists. In Nepal Maoists (of same ideologist) are revolutionist, social reformer. Now they are part of the government there and strongly backed by Indian Communists to take part in Nepal Govt. See how double standard (of course ant-national, anti-social and communal) communists are.

Really its very sad to learn that a leader is shot dead inspite of his bodyguard that too when he was Chief Guest of the function. Is this a security lapse or personal revenge. Anyhow the govt should be strong enough to take action against the culprits. Also a common man should be more active so that the govt can do something.
Let's not forget, the root cause of the Naxal violence is caste oppression and dominance by the forward castes. Yet I don't see any message here identifying that as the cause - people are sweeping across the globe from China to Russia to find the reason for this issue even though it ought to be rather obvious to those who want to face it.

of course, just as the muslims are responsible for the gujarat riots, and the sikhs are responsible for delhi riots, and gandhi's muslim appeasement was responsible for his assasination, this too may be root-caused to brahmins, kshatriyas etc..

Maoism as an ideology was a major failure in China. Related ideology failed as well in USSR, Vietnam and Laos. All it did was hold up the progress of those countries. It is disturbing that decades later, it still survive in India and Nepal, and has morphed into a parallel administration, with just as much factionalism as real parties. Likewise, it rolls into villages and forces them to give up food, men, money and even shelter because the Naxalites do not care if you believe in their ideology or not. If you try to participate in the Democratic process and build a better future, they kill you, because people prospering under Democratic means will undermine any support they still have left. State and central governments should work together with security forces to stamp out this movement, and if they don't give up, they must be killed. Simple as that.
Please friends, try to understand; this is the beginning of Communist aggression against Indian democracy. Let us not bring in petty internal quarrels. The Chinese, the CPI(M) and the CPI are in this together. Let us outlaw the communist party right now!
