Simply ridiculous!!
by Ganesan Krishnan on Mar 04, 2007 11:16 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Ridiculous...there are more honorable ways to strengthen ties between countries. What a lousy people with indian upbringing are...all seems to be happy about this way of claiming french throne.

Dear Ganesh Kumar,
your comment "lousy people with indian upbringing" is relative. 'Indian Upbringing' is the most pride giving thing for normal indians. We belief our ways are no inferior to any of others on absolute tems

Hey Ganesh Krishnan, its the french people who are giving him the title to the french throne (to very indian citizen) so cheer him up.Also there is no need to strengthen our ties with the french, they are already strong.

We have known it for a long time.
by farhan khan on Mar 04, 2007 10:52 AM  Permalink

Most of the people in old Bhopal have known this fact for ages now. Its quite interesting to see several buildings with strong French architectural influences in Bhopal. The Bourbons in Bhopal also run a school by the name Bourbon and have taken very Indian names. Wonderful to know that they are cliamants to the lost throne of France, jst reflects on the wonderful mixing couldron society of this country.

History
by Antony Augustin Akkanath on Mar 04, 2007 10:44 AM  Permalink

According to the history of the Catholic Church in Bhopal, whicch dates back to 1785, when Salvador Bourbon, a descendant of the French Royal Catholic Family of the Bourbons, came to Bhopal to work for the reigning Begum Mamola at Bhopal. In 1829 Bhopal was officially a part of Agra Vicariate. It was Bishop Hartmann ofm. Cap., who is in a very real sense the founder of the Church of Bhopal. In 1873 he acquired a plot of land from the Muslim Ruler of Bhopal and built the first little Church, which, in 1964 became the Cathedral of the newly erected Archdiocese of Bhopal.

The Bourbons in discussion, belong to this Cathedral Parish.

indian heir to french throne
by santhanam srinivasan on Mar 04, 2007 09:11 AM  Permalink

who knows who is he or she? all royal blood say good blood runs thru everybody. this can be seen thru the activities or speeches or deeds of him or her.
thru our most number of kings down with king shivaji or till now present political leaders
have their own lineage, which cannot be told for various reasons. may be some fled their countries. so the lineage may be true or not, but possible. just remember the heiress of nizam from french who made some news some months back in india.

xyz abcs,
Very true. News is something which is not everyday occurance. If you look at news papers, killings/ politicians blabbering/ cinema star/ actress news and thats all...seems photonman want those news which he can 'use'. For what?
The news about french connection may not add to India's GDP or reduce inflation, but it may certainly effect international relations between France and India (Even after french revolution, they have certain fond feelings towards royalty and it is evident in very steep prices people pay to get Louise XVI furniture or items from his era.

You guys remember the French revolution? The recent beginning of the end of monarchy in Nepal? These happen for a very valid reason.
It is pathetic that we Indians still give a damn about such 'news'. Wake up..it is not going to do a god-damn for relations between India and France (It might have if the French revolution had not taken place!)

And you quote "fondness for furniture" of some eccentric filthy-rich people as fond feelings towards royalty of 'people'..which inturn you translate in your mind as something that will help Indo-France relations....stupid-stupid-stupid!
