Hidimbaa..Tadakaa
by Deep Prakash on Mar 02, 2007 09:47 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Good article,

Though I feel as per Mahabharata, the brother-sister duo was Hidimb - Hidimbaa...not Hidambi.

Do you think you missed one famous name.. Tadakaa, the demoness killed by Rama.

Dr. Deep Prakash, UK.

Dr. Prakash: Different parts of country call them with subtle differences reflecting the local accents. Hidimban-Hidimbi is another of such versions

its not about accents, its about what the book says. Hidimbaa is the correct name and not hidambi. Names have a certain reason specially when we are talking of Mahabharat, eg, arjun is a-riju...not straight....which leads to the bhagvat geeta to straighten him out. More responsible writing is expected from a site like rediff.
