DIRTY INDIANS
by hercules rodrigues on Jul 02, 2007 09:23 AM  Permalink

firstly i will tell u that I AM AN INDIAN.
but its sad to say that most of the indians are dirty, just look around and see. am i exaggerating ????
FIRST LEARN TO KEEP YOURSELF CLEAN, THEN KEEP YOUR SURROUNDINGS CLEAN, EVERYTHING ELSE WILL FALL IN PLACE
Indians dont respect India, thats the final truth. the proof for that is when an indian goes abroad, he/she follows rules n regulations of the host country, but when they are back in india, they dont care a damn.

Bombay, not Mumbai
by Cutlet Gravy on Jul 01, 2007 03:21 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I read in Mid-day long time ago that there is a very big threat to our beloved international city which is being turned into a dirty, provincial town. Our hopes of it being a Global Financial Hub are now drowning day-by-day.

Worse soon all our hopes will be permanantly washed away if we keep calling this city, Mumbai.

Therefore every one please say Bombay -- not Mumbai -- so that we are saved from this 'Numerological Disaster' (Mumbai) that was imposed on us by Shiv Sena, aided and abeted by Rajiv Gandhi.

So sing, yeh hai Bombay meri Jaan!!!

Call it Bombay - Cuaz it sounds beautiful and everyone calls the city Bombay. When i travel back home to bombay, no one at the airport even knows what mumbai is and its sounds sick to use the word mumbai cauz it ryhmes with the name of a servant in bombay. Thats what i got to knows recently from a few people that a servant is called a so called "bai" or something like that. Bombay i emerging into a financial hub and there is no stopping it if we believe we can make a difference and throw out the uneducated politicians and other cheap people from other states that make our bombay so dirty. Hope someday i will make a difference. I love "Bombay" .

Saying Bombay is not going to change anything. Change the attitude. Try, make it clean. Mumbai is original name. This was changed by Britishers beacause they could not pronounce Mumbai. How would you feel if someone calls you by diffrent Name?

Co-operation and togetherness requested from Mumbaikars!
by Vina Mendonca on Jul 01, 2007 02:47 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

The Civic Authorities and the grass root level MLA's/Corporators must open up their eyes and mind and start and think about laying a milestone to restructuring the drainage system and infrastructure of Mumbai. The value of a human being is somehow getting lost in Mumbai which is very sad and with natural calamities which is somewhat to an extent a known calamity now is not given due notice at all. This is even saddening, more so when we see and feel it overseas. An appeal to our beloved Mumbaikars wake up and get started on like Rang de Basanti! We might reach atleast to a beginning at the Municipality Office!!! United we stand and divided we fall for sure with a thump!

mumbai (ex-bombay) is becoming one of the horror stories which had been predicted many times before - mega-cities with astronomical overpopulation, gigantic slums, crime & gangs, infrastructure collapse, terrorism, decay and ruin.

to save mumbai (ex-bombay) military administrator with overwhelming powers must be appointed and advised by competent scientists, architects & city planners for at least 25 years....all politicians must be sacked forthwith

Permanent Sollution is Multi-storey vegetation
by Rehman SH on Jul 01, 2007 02:41 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

It is true that our dwelling places are much compacted with people, bounded by concrete walls. Along with population control, immigration control, one most important thing to be done is consumption control. Always try to scale your sorroundings with natural habitat, not with USA, Saudi or England. We have become so obcessed with material development that we have forgotten to save nature gifted pure air, potable water and unadulterated healthy food. Instead to achieve undesirable artificial development we are keeping this biological systems in non-compatible concrete and plastic sorroundings. To get basic elements of life (air, water & food), we should inculcate to reestablish multi-tier hetero vegetation both on farm lands and urban sorroundings. We should stop hated towards nature and undesirable affinity towards arrogantly created artificial habitats. All wise people should start allocating at least 75% of our owned land under multi-tier vegetation and 25% only and hardly under concrete slabs or pavings. This will allow soil to absorb, store and supply water incessantly.

this is not natural, a city is not made by nature but by humans....hence humans have to take the blame themselves for their follies.

There is no proper planing in Mumbais Development. Everythig is mess. Our Political leaders are busy in their selfish Political drama. Everyone want their personal development & no one is bothered in states or Countrys development. Now people should alert & ask the politicians about such problems. Its politicians Gift. Raja kalsya Karanam. Raja only responsible for Cyclone, droughts & other natural calamities. Raja is not doing Sadhana meance Gods aradhana or Dharmacharan thats why Praja also not doing Gods aradhana or Dharamcharan thats why such calamities are hiting India & World & it will increase day by day. Thats why everyone should pray God only. God can survive everyone in such hurdles or problems. So pray God, say Shri Gurudev Datt, Shri Kuldevataye Namaha. Now only God Can Save us in this difficult situation. So pray that powerful God who create such beautiful World for ours sake. But we destroy it miserably as we like it. Ours selfishness is so high that we forgot all. We are playing on our politicians music but politicians exploiting us very miserably. They are become Crorepati & we become roadpati. So keep aside this Politicians & pray God. Powerful God can survive us in this difficult situation. Oh! God, Almithy save us. Shri Gurudev Datt! Shri Kuldevataye Namaha!

Could it be possible some time later that Mumbai might face the same fate as Dwarka thousands of years ago ? Will some coastal regions of western india may be submerged into the ocean water ?

WHOM TO BLAME
by MANDAR SAHANI on Jul 01, 2007 02:32 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

every one is ready to post thier messages blaming others.
ASK YOURSELF FIRST , HAVE YOU DONE YOUR PART . WHEN IT COMES TIME OF VOTING, PEOPLE SIT HOME AND WATCH TELEVISION.
now when they face problems , they blame all except themselves .
UNDESTAND ALL, ITS NATURE , no one can win against it, no BMC, NO GOVERNMENT ....NO ONE. wht happening in eurpoe , whts happeing in far east ... there are so many floods . this people have the best infra they could, but whts happening .... see, you cannot stop rain water flooding or any natural disaster . if there is less POPULATION, MAY BE THE EFFECT CAN BE MINIMIZED. all residents of mumbai should have a proper identity card like a SOCIAL SECURITY NuMBER IN US, control the intake of people who come to mumbai insearch of jobs, control beggars, huts etc.
WHY CANT BIG CORPORATE HOUSES POUR SOME AMOUNT AND TAKE CHARGE OF EVERY STATION IN MUMBAI

LET IT BE BRANDED LIKE :

RELIANCE BANDRA
TATA ANDHERI
MITTAL BORIVALI
RAHEJA GHATKOPAR

AND SO ON....

IT WILL BE RESPONSIBILITY OF THT CORPORATE TO KEEP THAT ENTIRE STAION AREA CLEAN ...

REG,

AN INDIAN
