This is a moment of shame for Congress and Manmohan Singh! They've ignored the strong public opinion over Dr. Kalam and got someone like Pratibha Patil who has already come under the cloud because of questionable financial dealings and also because of her big mouth!
Its time we taught the UPA and especially the Congress a lesson. Do sign the petition below to indicate your support for Dr. Kalam and also to pledge that you will not vote for the sickening UPA parties.
It is a shame that people want to support Kalam and not a lady who has spent the last 30 years working with real people of India. People writing in here is most likely to be someone who is sitting maybe in some foreign country and would have used every trick in the book to get there and if possible and will sell his mother if he is offered US citizenship. People talking about Kalam and stuff just amaze me. Kalam is a great rocket scietnist and that's it and he has amply been recognised by the country with the highest award. Making him a President was a mistake. Lets not repeat it.
You must be surprised when the US Army offerred to recruit soldiers with the promise of a fat salary and citizenship, we had thousands from India mainly Punjab lining up to take the offer.
So all this talk of people in these message boards. You guys are as good or as bad as our politicians. Stop complaining you hypocritic scumbags running petition sites and stuff

Its pathetic the response. None of you who write here have ever worked among the people and have no idea. Pratibha is one of the countless who work with the people and yes she is a politician. None of you will ever leave the confines of your office and ever do anyhting like Prathiba or any other politician. She fully deserves to be the President. I am not a Congress supporter, but fully agree in this case as Prathiba is a career politician who has dedicaed 30 years to serving the people

president is nothing but a rubber stamp, she's not required to be a politician. the role of president is very limited anyways. being a politician and a social worker dont mix together well, an NGO would probably suit it better, or many charitable organisations. politicians are mostly known to accumulate wealth beyond thier means of income these days. (im generalising, like you did too btw).
quite obviously, none of them replying to you need not agree with you. since you have a holier than thou attitude, you'll hardly get anyone subscribing to your views.

congress had 50 years to make a woman as the president, when they ruled for such a long time. they dint do it then. if they had the inclination to do so, they could have done that in alf a century.
but they dint do it.
instead now, they are playing cheap politics. you have totally lost it. there's plenty of people's support for kalam. he'd have been great. congress and its mindless politicking should cost them the votes in the next election, and madam patil should have a tough time in her office, as she's a politician with no morals.

I feel that what ever Arun Shourie has brought out in the form of a booklet is good. It exposes the corrupt personality of Prathiba patel and her family. They fooled the pour people, who last their hard earned money in prathibha's bank. I am writing this as an Indian and not as person belonging to any political party. Sonia needs a puppet who helps her to become PM of India, Monmohan Singh has no power in congress, Left parties, Mayavathi (52 crores or 52,000 crores!!!!) and Lalu (900 crores) are the main cause of corruption in the present India. Pawar and Thakre need to rule Maharastra and make more money. Remember, last VP election, Thakre did not support Shende, even though he is a Marathi, from Maharastra.

It is pity that once a great economist and supporter of left ideas now a dancer to the tune of Soniaji for what only God knows. When will PM stop dancing to the tune of Soniaji and CPI(M). Is he helping India to grow or India not to shine.
