What does it have to do with lacunae in the present investigation as pointed out by the widow of the Murder Victim? The survivor of a murder victim ought to be satisfied with a conviction, but in this case, she is not. I agree with you that culprits everywhere deserve to be punished. People like you who are concerned should constantly badger the media to keep these issues in the limelight so that eventually justice may prevail, as in the case of Jessica Lal and Priya Mattoo who would never have received justice without the media's efforts. Let us not confuse matters by making everything a Hindu - Muslim issue.

Judgment unacceptable
by purna on Jun 27, 2007 11:27 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Why is she not approaching the anti-modi, secular organizations and individuals, who are in plenty in Gujarat and Mumbai. Why is congress keeping quiet? Is it treating this as an internal matter? It is unfortunate if some disgruntled elements in BJP are using Mrs. Panday to ferment trouble remaining in the background. It is better for all including BJP if the issue is clarified.

Anti Modi, automatically means secular. need not be antimody, antyhing anti Hindu means secular. For non-secular guys no investigations can be done. We are secular. If he is Mohamad instead of Pandian, of course he deserves all the justice.

Delusions
by Miharika on Jun 27, 2007 10:43 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

It is an extremely rare situation where the survivors of a murder victim are grossly dissatisfied with a conviction. Hence there may be a lot of truth in Mrs Pandya's grievance. But she is deluding herself if she thinks that Modi or the Guj govt will grant her request, especially if skeletons are likely to pop out of the closet. Not unlikely if as reported, our friend Vanzara was involved. Mrs Pandya should instead petition the HC or Supreme Court. She stands a better chance of redressal from the courts. However, I doubt that the truth will ever come out.

Why do some readers turn everything into so-called "Hindu - Muslim" incidents? The article is about the widow of a murder victim being dissatisfied with the conviction of the purported murderer, and her pointing out serious lacunae in the investigation. Dont you agree that its really strange for the survivor of a murder victim to be unhappy with a conviction? Why be so bigoted that we blind ourself to the facts?

Excellent rediff!!!
by vargies on Jun 26, 2007 05:20 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Good try!
Any event or news Rediff never miss the chance to humiliate Modi and Gujarat. Above article by unknown reporter of rediff trying to impress unatisfaction of cort verdict not against Modi or Gujarat Govt.

Your news credibility is in question now with your partisan approach.
Clear cut example: There was a supreme court verdict few months before.
In Kerala one School teacher and BJP leader Jayakrishna Master who was hacked to death by 5 CPIM criminals infront of the students he was teaching in the class room. The lower court convicted all 5 hang to death as per the eye witness evidence from the students.
This murder and case was case in the center of all news and media long time due to the henious crime never happened in anywhere before.High court also confirmed the punishments.
CPM collectet more 2 crore rupees and fought in suprem court. Due to some surcumstancial & lack of clear cut police suppoprt of evidences, supreme court freed all five.
Kerala police was under cpm rule . Also Govt arranged the atterney for victim in suprem court was the previous atterny who was CPM's in this case in Kerala high court.
All the freed 5 convicts are celebrated welcome given by CPM in each district of Kerala.
That was CPM's murder..so rediff not at all interested.

So we guss Rediff was sleeping those days!!!

What is the view from Gujarat
by purna on Jun 26, 2007 03:05 PM  Permalink

What the gujaratis think about the incident and the verdict? They must be fed up and disgusted with such deliberate anti gujarati sentiments from biased outsiders. The gujaratis I have come into contact have lot of respect for Modi and his government. They have ceased to respect biased media which blame Modi for everything. At least the industrialists and investors, though initially were doubtful, have now realised the merits of Gujarat. What is happening in other states, even though far worse, is ignored by the media; Gujrat is a vibrant state with enterprising people, and will overcome all odds and emerge victorius.

It is very shocking to know about the realities of mueder of pandya. In Gujrat any thing is possible under the regime of Narendra Modi either it is fake encounter or killing of home minister or oppose of freedom of speech .

Where gujrat is going in this ? Gujrati are very simple and bussiness man people but now world know them barbric and uncivlised who performed geonocide of Muslims, thanks to Modi.

It is very neccessary to bring the fatcs for establishment of rule of law .Pandya family should fight the case in supreme court. They must fight for his son as well as for those innocents who has been booked by Vanjra the encounter especialist and found gulity because of wrong proofs

Your statements are biased and lop sided.

You say "Gujaratis are barbaric & carried out genocide of Muslims".

Who burnt bogie full of people in Godhra ?
Are they civilised ?
Should they be honoured ?
Who planted bombs in Mumbai trains serial blasts ?
Should they be given Bharat Ratna (Congress might consider that) ?
Who planted bombs in Temples of Varnasi & Akhardham ?
Who planted bombs inside Pakistani Churches ?
Who planted bombs in Madrid trains ?
Who planted bombs in London trains & buses ?

You should be lynched for making such ridiculous claims. First look inward & introspect and then comment on others.

dear John First I say Gujraties are simple and bussiness man but now becuase of the continous harrashment of minorities in Gujrat the gujraties reputaion has become very poor in the world and even The Modi do not get Visas for USA or European Union.
Those who kill innocents are terorist either hindu or Muslim either civilian or vanjara.
But what happened in Gujrat was done by BJP govt and its police. The govt did partiallity and allow Hindu fanatics to kill Muslims and allowed police to cunduct fake encounters.

Congress can give any one Bhatat Ratn but I am sure at the moment BJP itself can not dare to give Bharat ratan to Modi for performing geonicide
