Let me know what Chawala and Sunita did for India. Chawala did her engineering from Chnadigarh and moved to USA to fulfill her own dreams. Govt of India spent a lot of money to prepare enginner, doctor etc. and Sunita, i think she has not even visited India in past.
I think, we should stop to appraising both of these ladies. They have done great. No doubt about it. But not for India...

Had they been given an oppurtunity as the USA did by our country and politicians then what is the necessity for them to go there? Atleast wake-up now and think for the reason. The cause of brain drain! Many more sunitas and Kalpana chawlas are there in the USA.The reason is un ending reservation policy and the promotion policies based on caste in our great country. They are bringing laurelas being INDIAN BORN U.S.citizens. Feel proud. You have no guts and merit to go and settle elsewhere.Curse your fate, my boy.

INDIAN GOVT ALSO DID NOT GIVE AS SUCH TO APJ ABDUL KALAM BUT HE DID HIS BEST FOR INDIA. MR. BHABHA ALSO DID FOR INDIA INSPITE OF LACKNESS OF FACILITY THAT HE CAN AVAIL FROM US
Sunita Williams is a Christian, Mother, Husband are all christians how come she becomes a hindu, they are US citizens migrated 60 years back. Our GUjju community are the one who are driven away by sentiments. Why do not anyway pray for the betterment of India/ INdian society and poor people
Why are you guys hyping someone who is not even indian? Her father is indian and Sunita is american? Wen will we leave this indian origin fixation? It sucks big time. As a human being my heart goes out for her safe return but why give this so much importance when se is not even indian?
anyone with merit will always succeed in america, there is no need to pull strings, pay a bribe, know a minister or have an uncle in an powerful position.
america is top in education (70% world top universities), business (300 largest corporations), science (270 nobel prizes in science), sports (2400 olympic medals)......because MERIT is given the greatest importance.
