Now normal people are stupid
by Rajeev Vishnoi on Jun 22, 2007 02:41 PM  Permalink

Indirectly Pranab Mukherjee is saying that now they are in power and they can do any thing. But what will happen in next election. Do not think normal people are still stupid like earlier, now they can think much more. You will get punishment very soon for this decision.

In favour of Madam Jayalalithaa
by Thomas Francis on Jun 22, 2007 02:40 PM  Permalink

Sir,

The statement of Mr.Mukherjee reveals the mind set of congress party about people of India. The congress party which hinding behind a Foreign Lady is playing audaious on many front of the countries affairs. One way he is correct, who is the current PM is however intelegient, good and venerable he may be as far as democracy is concerned he a glorified clerk who got promoted to the post of PM.

So also things being done a bunch of hijackors and mininority are ruling the roost now. This will change for good to the people of India. Madam Sonia please examin your conscious and say boldly to the congress party to conduct themselves for one election without your support or involvment and prove itself a party in its correct definition.

MGR did not gave Madam Jayalalithaa the party in a golden plate to enjoy. Madam Jayalalithaa fought her way, endured humiliation and trials and even physical threads and man handling. Hads off Madam Jayalalithaa who stand one and unique among these so called Man politicians group who boste their power position without any moral standing. At present times, Madam Jayalalithaa is the only leader and even so only Women Leader who owes my respect and honour. Madam Jayalalitha the people are with you. You have a bright future.

God Bless you.

Yours Friendly

Francis

Presidential Election
by mp haridasan on Jun 22, 2007 02:39 PM  Permalink

It should have been a direct election by the eligible voters, who vote for other MP or MLA. It is needlessly complicated, so that small players like Left parties, can dictate their terms.

why so much fuss
by winderr on Jun 22, 2007 02:39 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

why this issue is so imp. we all know out country's president doesn't have any real powers anyways. does it really matter who sits on that post and sign on all bills passed on by our prime minister.
if our "elected" corrupt politicians to play a little 'tug-of-war', let'em. its not like they 'd have done anything constuctive work in that time anyways.

---- just one more 'hope-lost' desi

people who?
by sajindranath nambiar on Jun 22, 2007 02:38 PM  Permalink

It is the perfect example that, politicians forget the will of the people after the election. If it had been the case that election of the president was to be inlcuded in the manifesto, then all the parties would have opted for Mr. Kalam, alas, this is not the case. God save India.
