Kalam is the people's president. The electorate may not have clever media coverage as politicians do, but they will act when they get their turn %u2013 next election.
When it comes to the post of a president, credibility, personality are more important than sex, caste and the social service.
Our President Kalam is revered by the Mother India (i.e. all of us), probably so much after Mahatma and his contemporaries. Irrespective of what happens in the next few days, I believe we will still respect and be proud that we have had someone so great who had crowned his chair in our lifetime. Even those who oppose him to continue, can not find enough words to say against him, to say the least.
He is so humble and respectable, that he will not be drawn into any controversy in this whole drama. "Burnt sea shell will still be white", quotes an old Tamil verse.
The third front has done a clever move, in spite of being third!, binding BJP& rest. Congress will pay the price in the next election, just as they have done in UP; still worried about what the late Rajiv Gandhi had to endure with the then President Giani Zail Singh. Our President has no more powers than what he/she can exercise.
Sad, we want the president to be a Woman? Seem to confirm that the post is a rubber stamp, we should only worry how he/she looks and not what he/she represents... May be want another different kinds of president in the future, I dare not pre-empt!
Cong I am ashemed I voted you in all elections.. this time I will correct my mistake.. Mukergy is not saying anything indirectly..he is directly sayign that they do not care what people of india wants.. they want to elect a rubber stamp President, so that sonia and all otehr badmash cong. can do all sort of nonsence things they could not do cause of Mr. Kalam.

socha bahut sahi socha lekin itni dair se kyon socha... look dear congress and so many parties are major problems for our country and what Kalam adcocated for only two party regime...which all parties could not grasp...overall Kalam is more powerful president ever India has seen... he is very streightforward and dear to all indian public. It is a shame on us that we have such kind of stupid, old and dirty politicians who are ruining this country.. Alas kalam should have invented such powerful missile which can carry all these politicians including sonia gandhi into bay of bengal and destroy them permanantly

vote to any party then congress and left if you want any progress of this country but ensure that you vote and also share your thoughts and ask other also to vote.
If the people of India -- the electorate -- feel that their political pumpkins are not working in the people's interest, can they ask the Supreme Court to intervene on their behalf?

SHEELA BHATT THE PRESIDENTS CAN BE ELECTED BY THE PARLIMENT OR BY THE SUPREME COURT IN THE DEMOCRACY COUNTRIES DEPEND ON THE POLITICIANS.. WHERE AS THE EXECUITVE POWER OF SUPREME COURTS CAN APPOINT THE PRESIDENT
Really Congress is playing politics. They think that if the women President leads to India, women votes will be surely comes in favour of Congress like reservation vote bank. But they should think merits for development of India.People will defenately reject to Congress duty their dirty political game in next election.(ismailsk)

Do you dictate balance people of India to learn Hindi ? A least this great lady all the way came from Italy learned hindi,adopting indian cultaure,promoting politics,serving people and trying to become a PURE INDIAN If we donot agree this,let us start a new political party and have a full mandate and let us ammend the constitution that there would be only Two or Three constitutionally formed parties in India

CPM won't support Kalam because Kalam has put India's problems ahead of the atrocities in Iraq, Palestine etc.
His religion is science and not pseudo-secularism.
He listens to the people and not the anti american barking of Hugo Chavez.
CPM is not people's party anymore. Supporting UPA they are showing how to run with the wolves and hunt with the hounds
