He created a cult of violence, hate & animosity towards other religions and there by created an army of satans. But he is called prophet! It's a joke. Peacelover

Instaed of blaming politicians ,we have to blame Kalm himself as he came under the influence of disgruntled politicians like Babu ,Jayalalitha & Mulayam and shown willingness to contest knowing the numbers. Anyhow , he was very popular president with all educated youth , but last image in the end with this sad & unfortunate episode.

You said it right. Power corrupted Kalam and he was fooled by Naidu & Co. who have been rejected by people in each state. Also read:
On the face of it, there was nothing wrong about Mr APJ Abdul Kalam indicating his willingness to join the presidential race provided there was "certainty" of sufficient support for his candidature. After all, during his presidency, Mr Kalam has emerged as a 'people's President', hugely popular among young Indians - unlike professional politicians who are caught in a time warp and pander to 'old' India, he has been able to connect with children, teenagers and young adults by speaking the language and articulating the aspirations of 'new India'. In any event, there is no constitutional provision that bars the incumbent President from seeking a second term. Moreover, Mr Kalam's expression of "willingness" followed the United National Proggressive Alliance's concerted effort to nominate him; it was not unilateral. It was in the fitness of things that Vice-President Bhairon Singh Shekhawat should have offered to opt out of the contest and the NDA agreed to support Mr Kalam, as has been noted in these columns earlier. But the reaction of the Congress and its allies has been appalling: Not only did they pour rebuke on Mr Kalam's possible candidature but also disparaged him through thinly disguised attack on the man but for whom perhaps Mr Manmohan Singh would not have come to occupy the Prime Minister's office. Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi's comments have been particularly obnoxious, reinforcing the popular perception that he is incapable of str

that he is incapable of stringing together five polite words into a decent sentence. Courtiers who owe their political success to the munificence and indulgence of the Congress's first family, it would seem, have a particular flair for bazaar language. The equally harsh tone and tenor of the criticism of Mr Kalam's "willingness" voiced by others, including 'stalwarts' of regional politics whom most of 'new' India ignores or even sniggers at, is equally condemnable and deserves to be treated with contempt.
Why does Politics always win? We people choose politicians. It is Politician%u2019s responsibility to do what most people love and like to do. I bet if we take a vote on the presidential candidate from all the citizens of India 90% would vote for Dr. Kalam. Kalam had to say %u201Cno%u201D because of the Politics played by all political parties. Congress thinks it is relieved from Kalam%u2019s statement saying No to President Election. But the truth is it is not. In the next elections Congress is going to lose out in most of the regions.
This time Politics played by Congress has won. Next time%u2026 in the nation wide elections%u2026. Wait and see Congress%u2026. It is peoples turn to Triumph.
