Well said, ignore other fools who are just fools and take pride on some foreigners achievement as indian achievement because their grandfather is indian or father of greatgrand father. we can't change these fools, these fools are educated fools. Don't run behind some other nationals achievement because they have indian orgin, no use to india because of them. thats true. as long as we don't change and we start to take pride on real indian achievements we will never become a strong nation. you can praise her for her achievement but u can't take it as indian achievement. grow up you guys

I am not taking any jibes at your relegion, are you Indian? your name sounds Bangladeshi, if you are then please leave us in peace, yes we are proud of her becaues of her indian roots, if you go on the shuttle then we will be proud of you, judging by the way you have posting, you would have a hard time handling a bycicle

i agree with you. We are all proud of Suni and we wish her a safe return to good old earth. You dont have to be born in India to be an Indian. There are many who do great honor to India being foreigners. There are so many in India who are ruining our country, lets focus our vicious tirade and criticism against them.

Sunita (Pandya)Williams daughter of Deepak Pandya and Bonnie Pandya is the second woman of Indian heritage to have been selected by NASA for a space mission after Kalpana Chawla. She is married to Michael J. Williams, but her roots go back to Gujarat in India and she has been to India to visit her father's family. She is of Slovenian descent from her mother's side. Among the personal items Williams took with her to the International Space Station (ISS) are a copy of the Bhagavad Gita, a small figurine of Ganesha and some samosas.
I hope these facts are enough to prove that she has more of India than many Indians who comment on her.

hehehe i kno...dude...people..just say all kind astuff....heheh papa ki hai kya....heheh thats awesome...well...i dont care about ne one....bout i'm proud of her....and will b proud to tell my aussie friends...that she's of INDIAN descent....thats enough for me....people cant apprectiate nethin mates....bloody hell!!!!
Sunita Williams is not an Indian citizen and nobody cares about an individual astronaut in a space mission. Why Indian news media is going crazy about an american citizen participating in a sapce mission? There are more talented Indians to be proud of. She was not chosen based on an exceptional ability to fight the martians or being more intelligent or because of any extrordinary talent.
Give us a break.. she eats a samosa and it's headline news. WTF?

I don't agree with you. She is not an Indian Citizen but she belongs here. She is one of us. We have to be proud of her for this extraordinary achievement.

I'm surprised by what you are saying, Michael - 'She is not an Indian Citizen but she belongs here'... Are you crazy? Firstly if she was indeed in India then she would have never been able to accomplish this feat. and Secondly, she doesn't want to be in India that's why she's in the US. GET OVER IT

Naren D, Mohammed Islamul,
Please stop being silly. Your logic has no basis. I guess you guys are big loosers, who envy at success and achievements of others. Please concentrate to better your lives -- probably then you will get a better outlook.
Sunita is an achiever. She is Indian and she dosent have to prove her Indianess. Her actions speak louder than words.

To Desi,
See boss, I accept thet she has achived some thing... good for her, she done hardwork and not its paying of for her.... The simple point is that why we want to be part of that? Do we really need "non citizen Indians" to prove ourselfs? , think about you think about many Indians in india or around the world.. who are "Indian citizens" they doing wonders, if you really want you can refer them to say "India is growing" ....
Her sucess is always a two way process.... if a coach has not coached any team, how he can say that it won coz he belongs to me? that lady has nothing to do with India, neither her program has nothing to do with ISRO... where are we involved in all this.... I think only at the level of samosa "that happens to be an Indian snack", and now avilable all ove rthe world.... for that matter Kalpana chawla was better example, at least our country had something to do with her... she learned her basic engg from India, I really feel pround on her, coz she was Indian... but Sunita... let her enjoy her samosa yaar... jo ki uski mausi le ke aaygi frozen form me.... why so hohallaaa..... usko masti karne doh.... if you really wanaa feel proud, just think about Indians... you will find many.... but please dont feel about "rooted indians, or ppl having indian blood in vains" .. globalization kaa zamanaa hai, ye sab baate dual meaning ho jaati hai :)
