She is sad ?
by Bihari Lalu on Jun 19, 2007 10:13 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Foolish Rediff readers, You were all praying for her safe return just the other day. See now, she doesn't want to return to earth. When she does, will she ever come to India ? Morons, Grow up !!!

You are a weirdo... in the truest sense... it is human to get attached with people, places and our surroundings.. she will come back safe.. there is no doubt about it.. however her nostalgia per se the ISS and other team members is but human and i honestly doubt you sensibilities when you think and write what you have done..

Samosas and Sunita
by Gaurav Sharma on Jun 19, 2007 09:42 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Hey I guess that we should have an award NOT for Sunita But for the SAMOSAS. After all they definetely Indian and no one can doubt a Samosa's Indian Roots and Origin. What about a Padmabhushan for a Samosa...

Not only this, I have also not heard of any Samosa having a green card or an US Passort

Sad Sunita and English
by Gautaman T on Jun 19, 2007 09:30 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Hmm..Rediff,after correcting all English bloopers for its viewers, has now committed one! "Sunita's sad as Atlantis readies to return"...?! "Sunita's" can be used to refer to something or someone belonging to Sunita. It cannot be used in this context. It should read "Sunita is". And what is meant by "readies to return"? It should be "gets ready to return". Rediff Grammar Physician, Heal Thyself!

Reg. Nationality
by on Jun 19, 2007 09:29 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Sunitha is not even a half indian. I guess her father would definitely have a US Passport.

Guys, let us be clear about one thing - One who holds Indian Passport is an Indian.

I am proud of her achievement. But at the same I feel quite ashamed to find ppl. claiming her as Indian.

Wake up guys !

Its hold true and definitely her forefather belong to Gujarat; does it mean she does not have affection and love towards our country India? We understand that she could not have achieved it if she had been in India. I'm proud of her but we people shouldn't be emotional as much because we poor Indians won't get any benefit out of these. We would have appreciated & celebrated much more if she had any planned to do some things our country. Guys, be practical.

Guys grow up !!!

When the whole of mankind is making some achievement, be happy about that.

Had she been in india, I am sure, she will not be able to do what she is doing now. Our India has lot more higher priority issues to be taken care before we pump more money into space research.

For work related reasons, I had to come off my hometown and live in another state in india itself. Does that mean that I love the new state more than my own hometown !!! Oh come on. Grow up. She may not be an india at all, but atleast she is doing something for the benefit of mankind !!! If you have a family, after the previous accident in which few astronauts were killed(including kalpana chawla), would you dare to take places with sunitha ?

Be it an indian or not, be it in india or abroad, when someone is doing something good, learn to appreciate that !!!

Whoever does good, acknowledge that its good... Not just when indians does that.

If you dont care, why do you bother to read this article ? Just to spread hatred ?

Anil

So Sad...
by Sameer on Jun 19, 2007 09:27 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

As a great support to Sunita Williams, who contributed a lot to India, we shud declare 2 days holiday for the entire nation. We Indians shud cry supporting her n sharing her grievance and send her consolation messages...

Sunita Williams shud get Bharat Ratna n Rediff shud also get something for supporting her.

This bloody incident reminds of the tears Mr. Vajpayee shed when Kalpana Chawla, who went for US Space Missile Mission, ended as ashes. The same time there were thousands of Indian women were being raped n burnt becoz it was the time of Gujarat Carnage on which poor spineless Atal didnt respond.

there may be fights between us, the same way bros n sis fight at home, but towards the end we all are Indians, the children of India and we dont want leaders like Atal or medias like Rediff.

This is hilaroius, there is a message which says, we have to be proud because she carried samosas....Bunch of losers. We need better definitions for Indians. She is not a Indian. We can be proud of her and other Russian Astros.

By the way....is Sonia Gandhi Indian?

Who cares??
by Sumit Bhandari on Jun 19, 2007 09:02 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I do not care. Why should I? Because she is half Indian? No way, I would rather care for cent percent Indians in India working to fuel India's economy or those soldiers at Indian borders.

I would not feel/think anything about an American with some genes from Indian parent.

Wake up people. Be proud of being an Indian/Bhartiya. Stop looking at NRIs/OCIs/Half Indians as celebrities.. I am saying this despite the fact that myself is an NRI too; but still..

Do you even know what you are writing? Are you a human being? I agree we should care for the people working in the Army but I would really like to know if you lost your humanity???? Aren't Americans' human beings? Dont they eat, sleep and work like we all do? It is a disgust to know that people with thoughts like you still exist!!!!
