LOT Of DEFENCE Deals are hanging because Dr Kalam refuses to endorse pseudo- Gandhi family wishes, hence congress wants its Monkey-Man as President.
Don't we have any person with Spine to Really succed & Match Dr Kalam persona.If not, then there should not be election but direct appointment of Dr Kalam.
Looks like, Indian govt has outsourced the decision making process (on selecting the President) to this Italian consultant called Sonia Maino who has already successfully completed the project of selecting the PM of India!:) Even God cannot save this country as long as this kind of stupid political climate exists!
I would prefer Mr.K.Karunakaran as the next Presidential candidate. He is the best politician that India had ever seen and the most suitable person for that post.

One he was the king maker in Delhi and his best achievement was he promoted his son and daughter more than what they are.

If KK is made President of India, then he wouldn't even mind writing a WILL on Rashtrapati Bhavan in his son/daughter's favour! He is such an old fox who can't think beyond his family! He has already ruined Kerala and let him not ruin the whole country! He is better contained within Kerala for heaven's sake! :)
I got the distinct feeling that Sheela Bhatt's piece may have been written by a BJP press relations officer. "Desperate gamble for President?" Really???!!! The Congress may be anxious, but it has the upper hand, esp given Mayawati's legal travails. Bhatt is either uninformed, or unnecessarily painting the Congress president as "desperate" and scheming. In journalistic parlance, these headlines are termed "false excitement".

Congress purchased support from Mayawati in return of relief in "Taj Corridor" case. Is this upper hand of Congress or Madame Sonia?
In past, we have already witnessed Sonia expressing her deep disliking towards Mayawati, so how come Sonia has love & affection BSP supremo? If Sonia has upper hand, why does she runs to Mayawati's residence to beg support?
Mr Fernandes, the people like you have made Sonia & her Congress to rule, rather misrule this Country since Independence.

I get the distinct feeling that Michael Fernandes is a chronic BJP baiter being from a minority community. Such people only want everything thing without deserving it and this can be done by Congress only. But wait a minute, isn't Sonia Gandhi still a Christian like Mr. Michael Fernandes, so a natural hatred for BJP?

Now congress shows its true color. In one hand, Congress president says that I am not interested for PM post and what I do is for the development of India, the other hand the same person tries to control each and every political post of Indian democracy. Lets keep at least President's post out of political influence. But So called Sacrificer now wants puppet President too like we have our puppet PM so that it would be easier to dissolve BJP ruled states. It is shame that our politicians also supporting a such a person. It shows true color of hawkishness,greediness to power.

Hi friends, We have all being only cribbing. This is OUR COUNTRY. Let us join together to raise a common demand for a DECENT PRESIDENT. Let us demand that the President of India must be a man of high repute, intellect and integrity, and definitely not a politician. If no better candidate then the Present President Shri A.P.J. Kalam should be re-elected again.
Maybe we don't vote directly for President, but no politician can actually afford to ignore us either, for in doing so she or he will risk his / her future career. But we need to make our voice heard and our presence felt. First of all we need to be united and vocal.
Let us begin our efforts in raising voice of all people.

The 200 per cent opinion, i.e., public opinion goes for Dr A P J Kalam. But every politician, whether he be an intellectual or not, thinks otherwise. AND, it is a great shame that a foreigner is deciding our fate and democracy.
