The article says that the office of the President of India is a prestigious position. It is a fallacy after the terms of the First two Presidents and it was totally devalued after Ms. Gandhi Sr.'s pleas for conscience vote to Mr.VV>Giri when the office of President of India was very cruelly termed as the Rubbert stamp Office.
Ms. Gandhi Jr., The Italian version,is making that office stiull more devalued by putting up nincompoops like Shivraj Patil whose only qualification would be his loyalty to the Gandhi family. Today the Indian Politician only has need for a President who would sign any proclamation even at including the Proclamation for President's rule under Article 356, to be ridiculed by all and sundry including the Supreme Court of India for total non application opf the mind. After all a reasonably credible would not have signed the Proclamation of Emegency without any questions.

Look at the positives, man: as Speaker of Lok Sabha, Shivraj Patil had ordered the diversion of a scheduled Indian Airlines plane to suit his convenience. Once he is President, he will have his own IAF plane and so will not bother normal passengers.....

I THINK GANDHI'S NAME SHOULD BE COPYRIGHTED AND NOT ALLOWED TO BE USED BY ANYONE! THAT NAME GANDHI HAS BEEN MISUSED BY MANY EVEN THOUGH THEY DONT HAVE ANY RELATIONSHIP WITH GANDHI....MIND YOU GANDHI NEVER GAMBLED AND POLITICIANS JUST GAMBLE ALL THE TIME..

Why you use such terms. Not to get so much tensed........Why you want Mr. Kalam for that post......even you can become with current language.......The post of a president is not that higher in Indian constitution......you are ok.......but dont use such words with school children.........Mr. Kalam is a nice gentleman with knowledge..........but the BJP and other political parties belittled him by making him the Prez of India......I dont know why he agreed for that..........

I would be happy if Sonia candidate looses & Mr Kalam should be nominated for second term. Mr Shekhawat or Dr Karan singh are the next best choice. Left would in any case be licking the boot of congress leaders for destroying West Bengal for last three decades. As a gesture of Acknowledgement of destruction of West Bengal ,Jyoti Da would lick the boot of congress & supported by cronies of left like 150 year old Surjit ,who care a hoot about WB .
Indeed SICKENING. What are people of India doing ? Why not a Post Card campaign be started asking Soniaji not to meddle with this high post and allow only a non-congressman, non-politician be elected ? Continue with the present Prez or thevice prez for the president. Tell her Quatrochchi may be made VP. As Quatro's name is mentioned here, I hope that message will not be treated as ABUSE.

Yes he can be President of Congress as he is from the Royal Gandhi Family and after Rahul's Kids will be the congress President or shouldnt they change threr surname from Gandhi to Congress " Rahul Bhai Congresswala" as Gandhi is also borred name they have got from Mathama Gandhi as he is Grand Son of Late Feroz

We have full trust in her and her team of Oscar Fernades,Ahmed patel...and people like me and higher ups like PC,MUKERJEE,SIVRAJ,ARJUN THE SAUDIA MAN,PASWAN,MODVEDIA,WE ALL EAT GHAS CHAARA,and keep quiet, when Soniaji condemn noncongressi hindus pointint a finger to them, we all jump and start ba.king at our own hindu brothers, but when the muslims kill hindus,bomblast,cycle blast etc...we all keep uu uu uu mum.She finds a ministry for us, she finds a post for us, she finds a job for us and so what is wrong she finds a President for India. kiska kya jaata...
Political parties are not at all paying attention to the citizens voice...They are are all saying in one unison - APJ ABDUL KALAM.
If the political parties are not listening, the best way make them bow to our pressure, is by way of citizens polls. I suggest the online and print media to take the campaign head on.
President of india is the post of our national pride. Mr Kalam is most genious who took Raiseena hill's charge, i have no doubt on it. But sonia gandhi must have not to play with the sentiment of indians. She is playing a game with her kotery. This must be stopped. SOniaji the president of india is not a Cm, or Mayor type post. U must select a candidate who deserves and abele to mantain dignity of the post and himself. If u don't find than choose a women candidate and change the history of raiseena hill. U r a women but u never choose a women. All the indians know this simple fact.

Mr Rajan! u seem to be a partisan of congress and so was your reply....but as the things going on for teh Presidential poll seem to just derogate the charm of that post. COntinuing the present President would have surely raised the vision of India in n around..but just teh fatc that he was a BJP nominee last time turning down by congress and teh Left looks jus ridiculous. As congress poses itself as a minority lover....why don it give support to Abdul Kalam on whnich it could even cash soem votes.....think ponder n type.

Is telling the truth not better than objectivity. Generally any news against the congress is not objective, but anything against the NDA is...cant understand the bias.
