come up
by alka pareek on Jun 13, 2007 10:14 AM  Permalink

Why not this caste come up. Education will only help them for better living. Why they do not understand. I again request Govt. to facilitate these types of people by giving protection not reservation. Govt. should make policies so that the people who want to learn can get education easily. support them from the roots.

Disgusting
by Anand Iyer on Jun 13, 2007 10:05 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

"Her sister Zarina, who is doing her first year BCom from Maharashtra College, adds, "I am called Al Qaeda [Images] in college because of my dress."

Teasing this girl who is pursuing her education against all odds as "Al Qaeda" is disgusting. Although I frequently criticise Quran and Islam, I take strong exception to this "branding" of people.

Another disgusting thing is people call muslims "katwa" like that Christian Evangelist did the other day. I strongly detest and disprove these things.

If you are criticising Quran then yo are in wrong path ...
Come to Islam this is the true path which calls for worshiping of one GOD . For your doubts refer to http://www.irf.net/irf/main.htm

girls education
by Meer Ali on Jun 13, 2007 10:02 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

you are looking at one side of story. Have you listen to the person on whom these charges are framed. this is all media bulshit. Media in a particular way wants to highlight unnecessary story of one particular community.

However the case is in court and very soon the complete story will be on the papers.

Donot give much importance to stories like these. For whole day i was watching these news repeatedly on AAJTAK. What a useless channel it is.

You keep lamenting about poor representation of muslims in jobs and want reservation. But you do not want women who constitute 50% percrnt of population to study. Do you not know, today, it is the girls who dominate the merit list of CBSE exam? Girls' education is not important for you, but reservation is.

Why Hiten Patel's post quoting Taslima Nasrin is marked abuse? Yesterday On's post quoting Manusmriti was marked "abuse".

Rediff-why this dictatorship???? Let ideas flow freely. If u dont disagree, refute. Dont mark "abuse".

read this article- women and men are equal.

EDUCATION IS RIGHT OF MUSLIM WOMEN.

ISLAM is not anti-women, say scholars

PTI

Saturday, July 15, 2006 14:03 IST

NEW DELHI: Several Muslim scholars, social workers and intellectuals on Saturday said that all religions of the world, including Islam, give equal status to women without discrimination.

"There is no discrimination against women in Koran. It is not correct to say that Islam is anti-women. It is some people who give a wrong interpretation of the Koran to exploit the women," Vice President of All India Muslim Personal Law Board Syed Kalb-e-Sadiq said here.

At a function on the occasion of birth anniversary of Hazarat Fatima Zohra, the daughter of Holy Prophet, organised by Iran Culture House, Sadiq said Islam is not against reasoning and justice. "The time has come for proper interpretation of Shariat laws."

Chairperson of Guild of Service V Mohini Giri said there was a need to remove women discriminatory laws from the country.

"We must have a comprehensive women friendly law as soon as possible," she said.

punish police
by ANIL kumar on Jun 13, 2007 10:00 AM  Permalink

What is being done to the police personnel, who did not take the complaint? All the guys who are supposed to do their duty, should be removed, tried and put to jail for failing and refusing to do their duty. More than the maulana, it is these people who should be punished for not doing their duty.

I think that politicians and police are doing well in encouraging Maulanas in keeping moslems girls away from education, and encourage boys to study nothing but The Holy Book.
This is the only way to keep the community at the bottom.
However if the community wishes otherwise, they can pursue education.
