Muneer,it is utter rubbish on your part to say so.In fact MGR did lots of good things to the poor and corruption was less than during other reginmes in other states!MGR only opened severa engineering colleges in Tamilnadu (Ofcourse all private colleges) and now there are 280 engineering colleges here!Others states started aping tamilnadu very late.Now a good number of software jobs are manned by Tamilians through out the world.If mulayam singh,Lallu,Rabri Devi,Chautala etc can become chief ministers there is nothing wrong in Rajni becoming president-at least he will be godfearing and honest!

Raju: Most of the people in this forum are Hindu Fanatics. Not Hindus. Only fanatics waste their time in doing propoganda against other communities/religions. A President should have the following qualities.
1) Should have been a servant of Gandhi family for atleast 15 years. 2) Should not have any vote base. i.e. should have lost elections and enter the Parliament through Rajya Sabha. 3) Should not take any independant stand on electoral politics. If a government is non Congress, he must immediately call for a report from the Governor in order to dismiss that government.
4) Any other issues, he must blindly support the Congress and should not even meet the opposition.
If these main qualities are available, your candidate is nominated.

Bcoz he managed to become Home Minister despite his defeat in the Lok Sabha elections from Latur..courtesy his party chief. Its like a slap on the face of voters who rejected him. All these jobless oldies from congress enters the cabinet thru backdoor entrance(Rajyasabha).
