birds of a feather
by Ashok Gupta on Jun 12, 2007 03:36 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Not surprising that Mrs.Gandhi and Mayawati are buddies - the Taj corridor case will not be pursued if she supports the UPA. So its a win win situation for both.
Sad to say but like sehwag the CBI should be dropped as they are not batting well at all.
They have no case against Quattarochi or Mayawati or anybody only showing and shamming that they are investigating and making fool of the people.

i concur completely..but the situation of UP today is due to a chain of events which started in mid 80's..the government(congress and than BJP's) inability to support to progress of the state and instead divulging in the fullfilment of there own vendetta's menifested negitively on the state..within a decade the industries were dying for example (cotton textile in Kanpur which got reduced from 14 mills to just one ) the result were frequent strikes, shutdowns resulting in people getting unemployed and increase in crime rate, once this happened..the other states were booming (Maharashtra,Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh)now the upper middle class in a frenzy decided to persue there education and career in a more peaceful state with a better economy reducing the educated population of the state to half..these people dont vote in UP and they dont vote for the state where they are living..therefore almost 40percent of the states population doesnt practices there most important fundamental rights..the outcome is the government that comes into the power by dividing people on the basis of cast creed and religion, and capitalising on the ignorance of people..which ever government comes the condition of UP wont change because any government will not prefer people getting educated and choosing for them selves responsibily ..because if that happens, for sure ,nobody will be choosing there government..on the brighter side, you can see the youth of Uttar Pradesh gradually drifting away from polit

politics and getting more concerned about there career, looking at there peers..and as most of the senior politician in UP are above 50 or 60 years old with next 20 years, hopefully, they all shall be dead..giving the State and the people living there to start all over again.

It was the story in west bengal where long power cuts, violent strikes and drop in education standards drove industry and people out of the state. Now the Govt after 25 years are saying that it was mistakes of the past and is doing all it can to bring back industry. What happens to the youth of that time who are now old ? They had to waste their lives for a useless unproductive govt. whose only objective was to stay in power. Still better late than never and if the youth to-day have a better chance then good luck. People in UP just have to stand up and forc e the govt.to do what is good - for one start an agitation why there is no power and demand an answer.

UP has learned to live with the fact that what ever they do..nothing will change, which is wrong-but thats how it is..its a catch 22,which governemnt to choose..they all are same, in last 20 years things have become from bad to worse..and nothing was done by any government to curb it..as an individual, who likes to live away from home and work in a different state..but a certain section of UP's population (and Bihar and North East)is doing so..because there is nothing to do in our respective states.

This forum is mostly BJP fools
by raju on Jun 12, 2007 03:24 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

BJP fools don't realise that their party is as good as dead. Stop commenting abt Indian politics. When Kalam was selected by BJP he is good. IF Shekawat is supported by BJP he is good. What a farce. Anything BJP does is good and anything any other party does is bad choice. U people are the most biased and incompetent nincompoops on the face of earth. Did Kalam know anything abt politics when he was made President. He is the true rubber stamp. Narayanan was much better than him. Did Kalam do any good as president apart from hyping himself up thru media, writing books etc. Any tom dick and harry non-politician can do that. Does kalam understand one bit of politics? What happened when he had to act on Afzal? What happened when he had to act on Bihar elections? He was worse than a rubber stamp in crunch situations. So stop living in your idealist imaginary world, start being objective for once and start commenting only after you understand Indian politics well.

Dear Raju
Everything that BJP does is good. The reason is that BJP alone is the party which philosophically supports the idea of Indian nationhood and one culture.
Most other parties including congress does not consider India as one nation (philosophically I mean ) so it naturally means if BJP completely dies India can not stand as one unit. It will divide into many nations based on caste and subcultures.
I do not know who is right or wrong but from what I have studied, philosophy of most parties except BJP considers India as homogenous unit of many subcultures which they think is spiritual in nature. All others consider India to be hetrogenous mixture with no connection between various two subcultures.

Mr.kulkarni, its so funny. I completely agree with your post if you just negate all your statements made with respect to BJP. for eg. "If BJP dies India *will* stand as one unit". Thanks for simplifying everything the other way round. :-))))

i am not saying that. i am saying that most ppl in this forum are labelling al choices of BJP as good and all choices of any other party as bad. That is so biased. I would like to know what did Kalam do good as far as presidential powers are concerned? Did he act tough at any time? Did he act tough on Afzal? Did he act tough during Bihar elections when president's rule should have been immediately imposed? I don't think Kalam knows anything abt Indian politics. He is a scientist at best who is an upright person, thats all. Even i can name many other renowned Indian ppl like that. Do they become Presidents just because they are honest and did well in their respective jobs? To be INdian president and a good one at that requires good understanding of Indian politics and acting tough when required given the limited powers of the president. I think both Venkatraman and Narayanan were far better in this regard than Kalam who is just hyped by the media as a good president.

Kanimozhi as President
by Anand VG on Jun 12, 2007 03:21 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

What about Kanimozhi (Daughter of M.Karunanidhi) as President of India?
Couple of weeks ago she was nominated as MP in Rajya Sabha. Karunanidhi could have demanded for President's post for his daughter. Surely, our PM and Super PM would have yielded to his request.
Karunanidhi missed an excellent chance to excel in his family politics

Mr.Anand VG.I prefer JEYALALITHA.She is the right person to take care of HINDU terrorists of india.
JEYALALITHA - The IRON lady of the world is ready to take over as president of india.
She is the right person to handle HINDU Terrorists gangs like BJP, VHP, Bajranjdal, SHIV SENA,etc.

Remember how he took against HINDU priests of KAANCH MUTT. After her action, TERROR in the name of HINDUISM comming out of KAANCHI was reduced.

She is the right person to handle the internal problems rised from HINDU TERRORISTS.

defining genuine democracy
by Mikkey Moouse on Jun 12, 2007 03:20 PM  Permalink

Democracy is "the People" in total....when a Politician offers promises to the ENTIRE population, its democracy....as happens in USA & European elections.

When the Politicians offers promisies to certain SECTIONS of the population eg. ethnic, religious, langauage groups etc, then its NO longer democracy....as happens in Indian elections.
