is no need to take the bath, because it is insult to water & soap.Kindly don't take the bath , If you take the bath It is insult to his CM Chair because he is head of the kerala state
Restricting lower caste people from entering temples is discrimination. A priest can be from any caste. Why treat 2 humans in different ways. Did the God made these restriction no its after all man made decision.
This temple has its own traditions. Lets respect it and leave it at that. Thats not the only God and people can find solace elsewhere too. Once the God says 'welcome', then people can go there.
I wish the CM felt as strongly about the chikungunya epidemic in Kerala. Instead of lying to the public about the punyaham ritual (which was not performed because of caste but because of the entry of a christian- a religion which rejects hindu beliefs)
he should spend whatever energy he has at the age of 80 in fighting this epidemic

This is NOT CASTE DISCRIMINATION. This purification was done because someone NOT belonging to Hindu relegion visited the temple. Though his intentions may be genuine. It is considered that non hindus visiting the temple are not doing so because of faith but treat it like another picnic spot for sightseeing .

what if a hindu treats it as a picnic spot and goes sight seeing there ?
When this dirty politicians mind their business and get out from this temple politics.Rediff should stop this kind of postings because this type of crap statement is no more important for mass hindus in India/kerala.All hindus should unite to kick this type of political traitors out of power. If he says this is a type of caste discrimination then what about discrimination in muslim mosques.can any politician dare to say this is "religious discrimination".No,never this craps are just doing politics.send this traitors out of power Who wants your opinion-you dumpster CM of kerala.
Religious discrimination or intolerance between one religion and another or between one caste and another should be considered more as a practice and a tradition rather than an attempt to divide society.Myself, as an upper caste, has been prevented in attending some customs of other religions during a particular period of time. This is more because of custom and tradition rather than an attempt to irritate me.I respect it fully and gladly acknowledge it.
Christianity and Islam are inherently discriminatory. They declare people of ALL other religions as Infidel/Kafir ... fellow Abrahamic faiths has some concession. To Chr/Mus, their "Holy Land" [Not in India]
Mecca and Vatican are epitome and definition of discrimination. Does the CM have courage to speak a word or two about them that too? Else, he himself can be considered as being selectively discrinatory against Hindus.

what discrimination ? already in rediffmail the tantri has clarified all the the things 2-3 days ago. He has clearly mentioned that even if somebody else had violated the sanctity the tantri would have been forced to do the purification. why dont they say same things for visiting a mosque or a church.

Why is the need for purification. Do you think upper caste people came from different world. They are also humans why is the discrimination. First also your own hindu brother to worship.

Mr. Indian,...if you dont understand the issue try to avoid commenting on this. Dont turn this into an -upper-caste/ lower-caste issue. The purification was not done on the basis of the "caste" of Mr. Ravi's son. Am not sure, if you have visited Guruvayoor temple. It is clearly written there (and is in accordance with the current law) that non-hindus are not allowed inside the temple. And as far as I am aware, Guruvayoor has not been discriminating among the castes. The issue here is if Mr. Ravi's son was a hindu or not. Or in better words, the "identification" of one being Hindu is the problem. Tug of war between the "identification by AryaSamaja" and "identification by Govt".

Mr Rah, I believe that Guruvayur temple is in India so all the secular rules apply to it also. In India everybody should be allowed to visit all places of worship. I myself am a Hindu Brahmin and have visited the conveny Church daily during my school days. Let me also tell you that we ordinary people are much more god-fearing that these priests who are most corrupt in every respect. I have now stopped going temples because I feel suffocated there. God is everywhere and I can connect to him from any place
