Understanding Sunitas work and ISS
by eagle on Jun 11, 2007 07:09 PM  Permalink

Man when are you going to learn that she is working for the mankind. What ever the scientists are doing in space are experiments in space to know how living things react to space in cluding man. They are the lead arrows for man settling somewhere else in another planer other than Earth.

May be it will take another 200 years. But by that thime you wont eaven have space enough to hold all the population of earth on earth.

Dont be stinking jealous of anyone. Learn so positivity and keep a open mind to see why people want to take such a huge risk of thier lives to help mankind.

Going to space does not boost US economy as some of the commentors said actually they are using the tax payers money to run the programs.

Even though all the results of the experiments are not shared with the world. The place she is working is is the ISS (international space station) not just a american station.

Read a little bit more about what she has been working on . And if she is earning money it is for the work she is doing.

All the New growth in Indian economy is also becouse we indians have work from US so remember not to put all these crapy comments about helping US economy. MOst of the Indian community is doing that. Even the call centers are doing that.

Develop good sense of understanding a improving your knowledge. Simply writing stuff iwthout understanding is nothing but a saying true "Empty vessels make more noise" and always the same kind of noise, maybe louder.

Sunita
by optimist on Jun 11, 2007 12:53 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Venkatesh is absolutely right in analysing Sunita's role. Rightly said that she is working for USA and she took a lot of risk in doing all those things in space which Americans avoided. She gets all important information for NASA and inturn US. She may or may not die like Kalpana but contributes to American economy the way Kalpana did. But why we should be jealous of her. She got an opportunity to earn money and she is doing job for NASA. As we are not able to send people to space, we should be happy to know that atleast people with Indian names are going up.

What a lovely mentality you have. Lets hope you never go out of the country or even have the ink to refuse when given the opputunity, stating i can achieve all the glory for india from india.

Keep it up brother, remain in the "well".

I just hope you are asking out of curiosity why at all man wants to get out of earth. Or you have never heard or wanted to know whats out in the space.

I hope you have never studied at all. Hope this is a question out of scientific curiosity.

RE:why man is sent in space ..
by Appu shaji on Jun 11, 2007 02:20 PM  Permalink
For the simple reason that you look up to the skies and wonder what is out there and what is to like being there. No expedition is hassle free or remotely close to safe. Human inquisitiveness coupled with a spirit of adventure is what turned many a people into hard core explorer. So cutting the long story short, it is pure passion and pride (atleast for the engineer s and astronauts who work space organisations, though the governments will have vested interest, including weapon projects).

Btw there are more dangerous jobs out there than being an astronaut (who said the life of one of BSF jawans are danger free! And catching up on that point, NASA budget is way way lower to US defense budget (for that matter most of the so called developed nations defence budget). The majority of wealth we have, we spend building our arsenals.

Another reason is to setup experiment stages for a better understanding and improvement of our current existing fundamental knowledges (starting from validating our understanding of the fabric of universe and the reality at a sub-atomic level to the acquiring information and inferences about universe has a whole). And personally I believe it is a money well spend, rather than on building the next weapon which will can annihilate millions of people effectively.

She is contributing towards america's economy and getting paid by them as well and above all she is born in the US.So the BOTTOM LINE IS SHE IS ADDING ANOTHER FEATHER TO THE CAP, WHICH IS MADE IN USA.

Mr Venkatesh Prabhu,
You have put all these years of Research and Development of the space sciences in question by the way you commented about NASA!
You must be aware of the facts before you make any comments on an ace organisation.
Also, lets not compare ISRO and NASA. Both their missions and goals are not same. NASA is a bigshot organization in terms of its budget, reach, age and 'resources'.
Kudos to all the scientists and people who made all these space explorations possible.

Ramesh

SURF the WEB n u will find several such proofs of this COVERUP by NASA.Untill now they have done just what any other country has been doing i.e planting satellites and other Maintenance work just around the Vicinity of the Earth.

Such stupidity!! Do you know ANYTHING about the appolo missions at all? They landed on the moon SIX times, dear friend - not even including the 3 missions where they only went to the moon orbit and did not land.

And about the failed shuttle missions, they have flown a total of 117 missions in their 5 space shuttles - with ONLY 2 failures(Challenger and Columbia). Considering the complexity of these missions, their success rate is nothing short of spectacular. For your information, flying a shuttle to space and bringing it back safely is not like driving an auto-rickshaw on the streets.

Cannot believe I wasted 5 minutes of my life talking to idiots like you(IQ
