Police have requested website owners Google to block 'objectionable material' on its social networking site Orkut.com, following recent attacks by Shiv Sainiks on cyber cafes at Kalyan in Mumbai, protesting 'derogatory references' to the Maratha leader Shivaji and the Thackeray family.
The Computer Emergency Response Team has also been asked to take similar action on objectionable material on Orkut, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Kalyan Zone, Anupkumar Singh told PTI on Sunday.
He said a fax stating the request has been sent and CERT's response is awaited.
Shiv Sainiks are protesting against certain 'hate-communities' on Orkut, which allegedly contained derogatory material about Shivaji and Thackeray family.
Deputy Chief Minister R R Patil, who also holds Home portfolio, had recently said action will be taken against those found guilty in the Orkut controversy and asked the Sainiks not to take law in their hands.

Isn;t it the same place, where Police went to built its office in a Muslim locality after winning the court battle, but was under attack by mob.
And Police had to resort to Firing and few muslims died.
Later, one of 711 mastermind was quoted as: I did 711 because NCO Dy CM said (on Ullashnagar event) that Police will reply with bullet is stines are thrown!
These small facts will help understand people about what Ullashnagar is, and the people who live there.
Its hardcore SS because of hardcore Islamic identity.

These SS guys have never let a common man to live in peace. They have always created trouble where ever they go. They have tried to ban all the western culture under the name of hindutva and they were the one who bought Michael Jackson's concert to mumbai!! And when Raj thackray fled SS they took the same MJ issue to spoil his image. When sanjay dutt was booked under TADA, thackray senior was the one who demanded hos arrest. Later he was the one who declared that sanjay dutt was innocent, cos he took huge amount from sunil dutt and also got a promise from sunil dutt that sunil dutt will not contest against SS candidate from his constituency. In marathi such people are called double dholki(one who plays the drum from both side, according to his benefit)

Why you bringing up Hindu Muslim fight always, intolerance in any from in any religion will only bring problems. At least you are educated can't we bring it to an end .. we common people have played into the hands of politicians and religious leaders and lost a lot . I think the time has come for shivsena to grow up and stop using violence and vandalism as a means of protest. Being hypersensitive to objectionable comments against Shivaji or Balasaheb is simply immature. It gives out the impression that you are itching for a fight and can be provoked easily or your belief in your icons is so frail that it can be easily shaken. I have been a shivsena supporter for 20 years now, but I have to admit that Iam getting disillusioned with every passing day by the inability of the party to curb farcical protests over silly things like Valentines Day, orkut communities etc, etc. These protests don%u2019t serve any purpose and in fact are counter productive to the interests of the maharashtrians. A lot of job opportunities are created for marathi youths in the build up to valentines day. A lot of florists, gift makers etc are marathi guys, who lose out on business when you protest and vandalize their shops
I think shivsena should concentrate only on its core ideology; Welfare of maharashtrians and mumbaikars and utilize its cadres for solving every day problems of the people. The party has deteriorated a lot over last decade, a lot of honest cadres have been sidelined and corrupt lumpen elements have taken over. Shivsena with its honest committed cadres was a party to recoken with, but now it has little to distinguish itself from others.

Everyone in India these days is in the business of money making and so are the shivsainiks. Parties like congress have sophisticated ways of making money ; manipulating rules in favour of some biz house or favouring come contractors etc, shivsainiks since they are not in power use means like collecting protection money etc. The tragedy of Indian society is that we don%u2019t condemn corrupt means of earning money and hence wherever there is an opportunity to rake in the loot people can blatantly do it and get away with it. Yes the culture of money making has infected the shivsena in a big way and its sad thing that highlevel leaders of the party are not just raking it in but are blatantly showing it off through their opulent lifestyles
